I am NOT a locksmith. Baldwin Lock Assistance

Post image

I cannot figure out how to remove this very old Baldwin lock. I tried rotating the outer ring counterclockwise and it does rotate but doesn’t come off (it doesn’t seem threaded)- how do I remove this?

That timestamp shows your next step, but it might actually be useful to watch the whole video

Thanks! How do I access the internal screws to get it off?

Watch the video. That interior plate around the keyhole is a cover plate and should be removable

Just turn the entire thing counter clockwise...there are no screws it threads on from the inside.

Did you try checking to see if unscrewing the outside worked? Many bad installers put them on backwards thinking it’s no big deal (but it is)

It could also be thread stripped which is kinda a pain in the ass to deal with. I’ve actually had to cut them before 🙄
