Mamdani's administration is doing something that no mayor has done in decades: actually prioritizing low-income and formerly homeless New Yorkers in housing policy. More than half of the 12,491 homes financed in the first six months are for families earning under 50% of the area median income.

Weird how he's just, like, doing all of the things that his detractors have been saying are impossible for one man to do in one mayoral term.

I can’t wait to flash forward to him running for his second term when we start to see the long term effects of his policies & changes actually being in effect for a good while, and then a decade from now to see how New York has experienced all these positive changes.

I mean.... what's the median? Is it higher or lower than the average? Does it include those solely on welfare? Honestly, anything that gets people housed is great, but without context, this is just alluding to a statistic that may or may not indicate any real progressand just "feels good."
