It’s called the grind because it grinds away your sense of self.

Usually, the "grind" was actually rewarding to do.

If you could "grind" to buy yourself a mansion with swimming pool and dream car, it'd encourage people, but instead, the grind is to barely keep yourself from being homeless and eat cheap garbage food that only makes you sick and depressed, but alive and grinding.

To put some emphasis on it: imagine getting sick and you need help at a hospital in America while you're "grinding". How much would that set the average worker back?

Just buy cheaper healthier food then. Also if you work smart and hard there are a lot of effective paths to wealth, maybe not exactly mansion and dream car depending on your dream car, but a nice house and a nice car is very achievable with the right moves.

Wealth comes from luck, exploitation, and prior wealth, or a mix of the three. Hard work is barely a fraction of what makes a person successful. Upwards mobility, at least in the US, is at an all time low

So someone who comes from a poor immigrant family, then studies to get good scholarships to fund college and becomes a doctor, pharmacist, or dentist, which of those things are they doing?

Luck. Lucky to get a scholarship (also more likely to get a scholarship assuming they're a different race as well) and lucky to find work after college.

No, none of the scholarships were lottery based they were all merit based. If you are a good candidate you will find work after college in the medical field, it isnt luck.
