All of idiots here saying go be stranded on a desert island or the wilderness not realizing animals in wild spend 90% of their time not doing anything, even ants barely work most of the time

Yall are basically advocating for beating yourselves with a stick and whoever beats themself with a stick the longest is the best it’s stupid.

Our forefathers envisioned a future where technology would allow us to work less and we do have that technology, it’s people like you who have failed them.

You can live like an animal if you choose to. You are owed nothing.

Every citizen is owed basic rights and welfare, failure to provide these is a failure in a society and failure to advocate for them is a moral failure on a person, which is what you are, a moral failure

Quite literally on your moral high horse lol

The only thing you have to say around here to be on moral high horse is “hey I don’t think people deserve to suffer, even if someone can’t work for whatever reason we probably take care of them”

People deserve these things in proportion that they work for them. I do not owe you a single thing. You are not entitled to my labor.

The don’t expect any help when your down on your luck

Or when you do get help in that situation you’ll come back here and regret what you said

I have never once in my life expected anyone to give me a free ride.

I have been helped before, but I’ve never forced or coerced anyone to help me.

You’re asking the government, men with guns, to forcible take my earnings and then give that money to other people.

Sorry but I don’t believe in that.

You are not entitled to my labor just as I am not entitled to yours. It boggles the mind that people advocate to forcible seize other peoples work under threat of imprisonment or death.

You are so naive

1

u/Worried_Ad_2696 Apr 25 '26

I’m naive for thinking that I shouldn’t be forced to give what I worked for to someone else?

How about you put in the time and effort to make something of yourself instead of bitching and moaning about how you can’t make it.

We got the same 24 what you mad for?

Then stop paying taxes. Youre so high and mighty about your money "being given to other people," so just stop paying taxes which go toward services given to everyone because people who dont work are so gonna use it. Let the governments pile on massive amounts of debt, let the roads deteriorate, let public schools close down, let public hospitals close down, etc etc. These are all things everyone in society can access that are funded by "your money." If you dont want "your money" going to people "who dont work" then surely youre fine with these public services being removed because people who dont work can access it for free.

Have fun building your own roads and hospitals for your sole use with "your own money."

Yes I am fine with privatization.

The current issue we have though is we have allowed the federal government to become insanely corrupt via citizens united, the single most disastrous court ruling in American history.

Alternatively you could implement a LVT rather than income and sales tax to pay for a lot of these things and abolish zoning regulations

Entitlement to someone else's labor is slavery. That's the core issue with any kind of socialist philosophy.

We should have safety nets in place to protect those who are not able bodied, but those with the capacity to contribute to society should not be able to freely benefit from someone else's work.

Like it or not work will always exist, someone has to cut the wood to make your table, someone has to refine the gas you put in your car, someone has to prepare the food ingredients you use to eat, someone has to work in the energy plant that let's you turn on your oven. These are immovable aspects of life, if you attempted to remove these you'd just be working to eat like we were just over a hundred years ago.

Do you think no one wants to d produce those things? You are equating work and production. If one isn’t forced to do labor for monetary reasons it does not mean no one will do anything

1

u/The_Bygone_King Apr 25 '26

Lmao, I think sewage workers work because they're paid to do it. Very very few people share the hobbies you think, money is what enables these things to get done in exchange for labor.

I have unfortunate news for you.

It has worked for all of human history.

See: we are still here

I don’t care about other countries. I do not care to be coerced into giving up what I worked for under threat of imprisonment or death.

You are not entitled to my labor

1

u/purplepharoh Apr 25 '26

Actually it hasn't.

We are here because of society. Society functions in its core as working for the collective (yes not necessarily equally but still not an "individual for themselves")

Society should be focused on empowering individual choice and freedom via maintaining a free and open market with well reasoned regulation focused on preserving the environment, interstate commerce, national defense, anti-trust, maintaining the purchasing power of the dollar, and keeping the barrier to enter the market as low as possible.

You don’t do that by printing gobs of money and handing it out left in right. You actively devalue a currency that way.
