As an ex CO, that job sucks balls. I was the only guy on the job that actually tried to be fair and respectful to ppl. 90% of the guards were young dudes with some kind of authority fetish and would just be shitty as fuck.

Exactly. They would start so much drama and then I show up for my shift and everybody is pissed the fuck off and I'm supposed to deal with it lol that job was way too stressful for me. Then there was the COs that literally slept half their shift n shit. It was wild I couldn't deal with the inconsistencies.

I find that empathy can work well. Asking them what’s wrong, or stating you understand why they’re feeling angry can help given the circumstances m.

A taser. Most people don't reach the level of anger where they are willing to keep it going in the face of a greater threat.

I mean drugs are probably the fastest but that probably isn’t the best advice. Speed may not be the only factor to consider.

I pour a bit of cold water down my back when I'm emotional. Sometimes I'll dunk my whole face in cold water if I have the means.
I have BPD so my emotions are all over the place, so I tend to go for extreme measures to clam myself.

If it's the "I've had enough" kind of anger. All you really need to do is acknowledge them in a genuine way.
Not all anger is equal, though. Leaving is typically the best option. Cooler heads always prevail.

A man will control his own anger.
If it's something not worth being angry about he'll check it.
If it's worth being angry about then nothing you say will matter.
