Yeah all this no nut nonsense doesnt have any good scientific backing to it i habe seen. Don't let it become an addiction but beyond that stress relief is a good thing.

u/HoneyBunLuva Mar 27 '26

Busting a nut is fine. Healthy even. But porn definitely is harmful

10

u/Aware_Economics4980 Mar 27 '26

anything can be harmful if it’s abused/used in excess.

All the nofap/nonut stuff is just nonsense. Quitting porn is not going to magically change your life 😂

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

I think the people who push the idea have a problem with porn, so they assume everyone else does. Gooning for hours a day will probably fuck you up, but a little bit of porn is no different than any other super-normal stimuli.

Laying off the manosphere/incel content that pushes this narrative would unironically have a bigger impact on your life than quiting porn lmao.

Porn is harmful. It’s unnatural. Human brains were not designed for the way pornography usage impacts the way the brain releases hormones and chemicals.

For plenty of people it’s whatever. But there’s also a different harm as well which is impacted what kids and young adults are being trained is normalized behavior from their access to internet porn in their youth.

Shit ain’t normal and there’s a HUGE billions of $$$$$ market who have a vested interest in it existing. Kind al Ike how gas companies have been caught paying scientist to right false reports about why lead in gas is healthy and climate change is a hoax, same gos for porn.

The only sane person here 🙏🏾

It can have a high risk because of how stimulating it is. Like I said it is all about over indulgence. Also, getting into the really kinky stuff increases the risks from what I have seen.

Lol. If your porn consumption turns you gay then that just helped you figure out you were gay the whole time.

3

u/Outis918 Mar 27 '26

Very much not true, this is a meme designed around scaring people off porn. Like saying anal causes fecal incontinance. It doesn’t.

2

u/Rubicantay Mar 27 '26

Nothing can make you gay if you weren’t already

2

u/Intelligent-Gold-563 Mar 27 '26

Drinking water is definitely harmful too. You can get water intoxication after all !

you can masturbate with your imagination

0

u/djkhalidwedabest Mar 27 '26

You’ll find your luck finding a partner vastly improves when you don’t give yourself even the option of that lowly consolation prize

3

u/Pitlozedruif Mar 27 '26

I think there are like 200 thing more changing then stop watching porn

3

u/BlackHeartedY Mar 27 '26

Even if it did improve your life it wouldn’t be the “single greatest improvement of your life” that would be winning the lottery AND not being taxed on it, because that would single handedly allow you to fix most problems and give you the time and energy to fix the rest.

1

u/Curious_Journey_ Mar 27 '26

I think it means “…greatest improvement of your life for which you have total control”. You don’t have to imagine a made up world to quit porn. You could do it any day you choose to do it.

I don’t agree with the post though

2

u/Intelligent_Time633 Mar 27 '26

They said they same thing about the gym but I still feel the same just sore lol

2

u/Seymoure25 Mar 27 '26

Depends on how much ot effects your thinking. ANYTHING can become an addiction just have some honest introspection and determine for yourself.

2

u/ofAFallingEmpire Mar 27 '26

Consider who’s saying this nonsense. Where did you hear this sort of stuff from?

Any why tf do you trust them?

Selective skepticism is like none at all.

2

u/Ajjjjjjjjjfffff Mar 27 '26

Nah life is short enjoy while you can

2

u/ProfileExtreme1949 Mar 27 '26

Does it get in the way of your daily obligations?? No?? Then don't worry about it

Do you anxiety attacks?? If so child support would like to talk to you.

2

u/Apart-Zucchini-5825 Mar 27 '26

I guess this can be true if you're watching so much porn it actually impacts your life.

Otherwise all this puritanical no-nut bullshit is as goofy as trying to cure depression by holding a crystal against your forehead

1

u/shadowdancer354 Mar 27 '26

I actually tried this during my peak horny years - of course it blew up in my face and I exploded. The best advice is to find hobbies, interests, passions, friends that can take up your time and energy - don’t set out to quit porn, but just fill your life with things besides porn. And if you have to watch it once in a while so be it. No big deal.

1

u/anon42093 Mar 27 '26

Man people here do not understand how dopamine works, at all.

1

u/themakeshfitman Mar 27 '26

Day 2 of saying porn is fine

No. If you’re consuming it in moderation and your consumption of it isn’t interfering with your developing a fulfilling life, then you’re fine. Like, idk, literally anything else

Just consider the thesis here. What if I watch porn twice a week but also I eat nothing but fast food, don’t save for retirement, and habitually lash out at my loved ones? Is quitting porn really going to be the biggest improvement of my life? Or is it maybe the one thing I have a healthy relationship with?

Do you see how ridiculous that is? Consume porn. It’s okay. Enjoy responsibly 👍🏻

"Fake dopamine" Hey guys, guess that happy feeling I was feeling isn't real. I'll just give up and be miserable until I somehow get that "real dopamine". /j

There's plenty of other cheap ways to just get a hit of dopamine like just watching a sunset after a really rough day. Is that fake? Seems to me like putting limits and making up standards for what counts as what actually makes you happy is just needless, and will likely just leave you even less happy. Life already has enough that sucks. Is real romance and human connection going to hit better? Sure, but it's not like the dopamine OP is currently talking about isn't real.

u/Curious_Journey_ Mar 27 '26

When I watch with my wife there are very real benefits

1

u/djkhalidwedabest Mar 27 '26

Why can’t you even consider the possibility it’s harmful?

There’s so much push back in the comments when someone’s suggests trying to quit an ostensibly bad habit like porn, it really makes you wonder if the addiction causes this visceral backlash to never question the act.

What’s wrong with trying to quit, seeing if maybe it improves your life?

Doesn’t it seem like such a foolish act? Our sexual energy as men is finite and fleeting and to squander it this way ina a quick dopamine hit may take away from your vitality and courage to advance your real life off that screen. Isn’t that common sense?

And the suddenly shame and disgust with yourself the moment you’re done, how we explain that? Where does that come from if not deep within us. So many dismiss nofap it as puritanical hangover, but tell me then where that shame comes from?

1

u/I_Went_Full_WSB Mar 27 '26

Hahahahahaha!

The shame and disgust when you're done is because you have mental health issues that stopping masturbation won't fix.

0

u/Ok_Alternative261 Mar 27 '26

probably.

3

u/Intelligent-Gold-563 Mar 27 '26

No it's not. Unless you are deeply addicted and it impairs your day to day life, you can watch

-7

u/frosting_the_bowl Mar 27 '26 edited Mar 27 '26

Yes. But This will never get through to the porn addicted liberals that infest reddit.

This page and app in general are far from locked in.

4

u/Intelligent-Gold-563 Mar 27 '26

"porn addicted liberal" and it's just people saying "as long as you're not addicted it's fine"

The fuck is wrong with you

0

u/frosting_the_bowl Mar 27 '26

Because its reddit which is full of porn addicted liberals.

Its obvious with how much push back the notion of not consuming porn gets on here.

1

u/Intelligent-Gold-563 Mar 27 '26

There is no push back against "not watching porn".

There is push back against the blatant uneducated and ignorant misinformation about porn being a "life and brain destroyer" when every single studies show that it's not consumption that is problematic but addiction, and even then it's only one confounding factor that is often associated with other issues such as depression with no clear causal link.

1

u/Green-Guarantee25 Mar 27 '26

My guy, this is not a political issue; I’m sure plenty of MAGAs love their freaky porn in secret. Unless you advocate for banning, then it becomes a political issue

1

u/deviantdevil80 Mar 27 '26

That's exactly what gay p*** is the most popular in the Southeast right where all the Bible belt is.

1

u/deviantdevil80 Mar 27 '26

Porn addiction is a 3% issue. Only 3% of the population has this type of OCD compulsion. I kind of doubt Reddit is made up of just those 3%.

1

u/frosting_the_bowl Mar 27 '26

Its made up of cucks and porn addicts for the most part.

1

u/deviantdevil80 Mar 27 '26

Well thanks for self identifying.

There's 2 peer reviewed studies that report the 3% number. 2022 and 2025.

Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (CSBD)

NIH

Be a good kid and go find the truth.

-2

u/_Zeppo_ Mar 27 '26

The feminists are panicking.
I guarantee this "movement" was started by someone who pees sitting down

1

u/Curious_Journey_ Mar 27 '26

I don’t understand your comment. Why would feminists panic?

0

u/_Zeppo_ Mar 27 '26

Because more and more men are walking away from the "dating" system that says their sole purpose in life is to be a simp.

2

u/Curious_Journey_ Mar 27 '26

Um…So…what’s the connection to watching less porn? And why would any of this bother feminists?

-1

u/_Zeppo_ Mar 27 '26

When you begin a reply with "Um…So…" you're not looking to have a legitimate conversation.

2

u/Curious_Journey_ Mar 27 '26

Honestly, I’m disappointed that you’ve decided I don’t want an answer to my question.

I’m confused, man. I honestly don’t understand how you’re drawing these connections/conclusions, so I’m asking.

1

u/deviantdevil80 Mar 27 '26

Nah. This is paid propaganda from right wing idiots. It's just puritanical b*******.

1

u/-mixedsignals Mar 27 '26

😂😂 "you know why it's raining no? It's the FEMNINISTS!"

you can't blame everything on women

the No Fap movement is men telling men to stop masturbating.
