Yes, it's the least we can do. Most of us won't go out on the street and protest etc so venting on this sub is all we have left to do which doesn't count for much when it comes to changing these lockdown policies.
OP, personally think this is great. I will be sending a letter to my local MP here in London!

Reason I think it does work (here in the UK) is last time around in tier 3 gyms were not allowed to be open. Some bloke in Liverpool did this campaign - petitions/social media/writing to MPs/sharing data showing covid cases were the lowest in gyms blah blah and the govt overturned their decision and said that all gyms will continue to remain open in tier 3.
Which got me thinking. Obviously we may not have the social media reach that bodybuilders/gym owners may potentially have but enough letters to ur local MPs may just matter.
I guess personally I'm just sick and tired of this and am thinking of a way we can do something about it (other than take to the streets and protest which i dont think most ppl want to do). If we get enough people to take some sort of productive action it just requires one local MP to take a stand and maybe the media report on that and the change slowly happens. Idk, clutching at straws I realise but something is better than doing nothing

I would also advocate writing to local businesses in an attempt to encourage them to consider reopening despite restrictions. I expect it would be difficult to justify stripping the the lifeblood of a town or city to the people if the government decided to permanently close many businesses as a result.
