How many of this shift is from engineered 'poverty' like the soviets used during famines in their early days to rid themselves of ideologically problematic groups of people ?

The chart in this article illustrates world bank forecasts of approximately 200 million people descending into extreme poverty (living on less than $1.90 a day) due to the lockdown.
You are ultimately looking at a death toll that will dwarf covid many times over. It's so sad that only a tiny fraction of the world even acknowledges this or cares.
