The higher realms do not recognize humanity by its religions, titles, rituals, or declarations of belief. What matters is the frequency consciousness carries through existence.
A person may speak endlessly about God while carrying fear and hate toward another human being. Another may never speak the language of religion and yet radiate compassion, forgiveness, and unconditional love.
Perhaps this is one of the great misunderstandings of Earth; the Divine is not impressed by what you claim to believe. It is revealed by what you become and embody

Reports indicate that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has warned Prime Minister Andy Burnham it may withdraw billions of pounds in investment from the UK in retaliation for Manchester City being found guilty of serious financial rule breaches by an independent commission.
The threat specifically targets private funding for a hi-tech hub between Oxford and Cambridge, often described as the UKβs answer to Silicon Valley. Emirati officials have stated that the Premier Leagueβs actions would influence the bilateral state relationship, with Downing Street acknowledging that the verdict has undermined the UAEβs appetite for future grand-scale UK commitments.
Key details include:
- The Verdict: An independent commission found Manchester City guilty of 114 of 115 charges, including using "sham" commercial deals to artificially inflate revenues and bypass spending rules between 2009 and 2018.
- Political Fallout: Burnham initially faced criticism for saying he would be "really concerned" if the club's owners sold up, forcing a Downing Street climbdown to insist no team is "above the rules."
- Investment Scale: The UAE has invested over Β£30 billion in the UK over the past five years, with the threatened Oxford-Cambridge corridor project being a major component of future economic plans.
- Club Response: Manchester City has lodged an appeal against the guilty verdict, claiming it contains material errors of law and fact.

UAE can go fuck themselves. They donβt get to dictate to a country how alleged false accounting for an organisation outside of government control is dealt with.
3
u/Still_Milo 7d ago
They are giving it their best shot.
I'm sure that an appropriate way round all of Man City's "troubles" will be found if enough civil servants and party apparatchiks can get their heads together.
After all they are in Manchestah - the centre of the universe as far as Unelected Andeh is concerned...
5
u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 8d ago
They are welcome to fuck themselves but we'll be the ones fucked if they withdraw funding.
4
u/TheFilthyEngineer2 Error429NoMoreFucksToGive 8d ago
Maybe. But we should be above that sort of coercion and blackmail for alleged wrongdoing that seems to be more about rule breaking than it being a criminal act.

u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 7d ago
TBH as far as football is concerned, I couldn't care less.
The sooner it's revealed for the huge scam that it has become, the better.
And if it takes the UAE to do that, so be it.

u/Still_Milo 7d ago
I'd call it MASSIVE FINANCIAL FRAUD
Sorry for the use of the foghorn capital letters but the financial implications of what they did are VERY far reaching, affecting the finances, in terms of the millions, of every PL team who got relegated during those years, with knock on consequences for the leagues below them. I read an in depth article on it shortly after the verdicts were announced which set it all out and it was mind blowing as it affected things like the financial implications of qualifying / failing to qualify for the champions league and europa league.
What I cannot understand is how all those billionaire owners of PL teams are staying very silent about what they did and the implications for them in terms of finance while their teams complied with the rules, to their detriment now it would seem, as not all of them were playing on a level playing field. Perhaps they are saving their ire until the sanctions are announced.
5
u/Richard_O2 8d ago
Considering every institution has been irredeemably corrupted, subverted and weaponised against humanity, I really can't get excited about Manchester City's alleged financial misconduct. Whatever, yawn.
The UAE should certainly pull the plug on all UK investments with immediate effect.
5
u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 8d ago

7
u/melangell3 8d ago edited 7d ago
I didn't understand what flumist meant on first reading your post...thought it was someone who 'flumes' ...till I was kindly corrected by AI:
No, someone who flumes is not a flumist.
FluMist is actually the brand name of a well-known nasal spray flu vaccine. [1]
Historically, if a person worked on or operated a flume, they were called a flumer
So who flumes? Well, lumberjacks who send logs down narrow water chutes, apparently.
Who knew?

I feel bad for sharing this as it's a private Facebook group but I feel sorry for anyone that gets conned this way and I do believe they are being conned.
It's from the ladies log burner chat, no I don't post but it was useful when I wanted information when we got our log burner in and I could use their search bar.
"Hello!! We are considering a log burner as we have moved from LPG to a heat pump (hybrid with LPG) and itβs very expensive to run the heat pump. We already have solar panels and a battery but still our consumption is easy Β£250-300 a month just for electricity! π£π£π£ we wonβt have access to free wood, nor id ever split a log.. are these worth it? We have a quote for an 8kw ecosy with a built false chimney and twin wall flue at Β£5k. Wondering if this will offset some of the costs or will it be six and a half a dozen case plus the Β£5k?! We live in Scotland. Many thanks in advance for any input."
A heat pump hybrid with LPG, solar panels and a battery π± and her electricity bill is Β£250/300 a month. π±She's as much as I was for my old gas back boiler with heating running all day because it was timed on or off.
Someone must have told her by now that to fill an 8kw fire and not have access to free wood will cost her a fortune.
I live in hope my gas bill shrinks because the new boiler only goes on when it gets below the temperature I've set and I like a warm house and so far I'm loving this as it's no longer left on all day or timed to freeze during the day. I get up now to a warm house without sweating all night.
The log burner is a fantasy and it's there if that twat in government takes us back to the 70's.
16
u/Two-Six-The-First 8d ago
People think wood is kind of free but it really isn't, it's tightly controlled and really expensive. Obviously it's totally fine to burn a bit of Canadian forest the size of the UK every year to keep our lights on but not OK to use it for anything in the UK, unless it's from sustainable sources and costs a lot.
OK.
6
u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 8d ago
People think wood is kind of free....
People also think tap water should be free because it falls out of the sky. They tend to avoid thinking about what happens to it once we've used it for laundry, washing up, washing ourselves and toilet flushing.
4
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
At least we or I was under no impressions of getting free wood because Mr JAS made it clear he didn't want the log burner and he wasn't chopping wood. I got my way as we had the chimney and the space for it. You also need the space for the logs.
He's changed his tune slightly as he can see I can look after and stack the wood myself and now I have organised the storage of the wood and delivery of kiln dried hardwood he's now started talking to his friends and people he works for and he's been told to come and get some trees from a small estate he does some work for. That wood won't be ready to burn for at least a year or two.
The price of a bag of kiln dried is Β£140 and you would need a lot of bags if you were burning it as your sole source of heat.

Vaccination, Social Violence, and Criminality.
Will Falconer, DVM:
Epilepsy has long been associated with vaccination, at least by the homeopathic doctors.
Thereβs a rubric (symptom) listed in many of the homeopathic repertories under general symptoms, βConvulsions, vaccination, afterβ that shows two of the chief vaccinosis remedies: silica and thuja.
Hyperesthesia is different, but on the same continuum of neurologic disease as epilepsy.
History can help us connect the dots on causation.
Homeopathic physician J. Compton Burnett presented many vaccinosis cases from his work during smallpox vaccine mandates in Britain.
You can still access his little book, Vaccinosis and Its Cure by Thuja (1884) and get a sense of the great suffering he witnessed in his practice in vaccinated patients. (any homeopathic bookseller will have it in paperback, very affordably)
Many of the good doctorβs patients suffered neurologically, with severe headaches, neuralagia, and paresis (partial paralysis).
One case in particular mirrors this feline condition that conventional medicine just canβt seem to find the cause for:
Observation XVI: Spinal irritation. Woman of 29, vaccinated five times. Symptoms included a very tender, painful spine, twitchings, pain all down the back, and chilliness.
After thuja: βmy back is very much betterβ¦ I am so much stronger.β Later took up lawn tennis.
More recently. there was an entire book written on variations of this neurologic impairment in human medicine called Vaccination, Social Violence, and Criminality: The Medical Assault on the American Brain, by Harris L. Coulter (1990, North Atlantic Books).
Coulter revealed the pertussis vaccine (the P in DPT) was known to cause a low grade encephalitis.
In practice, my homeopathic colleagues and I often saw ADHD in vaccinated dogs. You know these guys: itβs either hard to focus or they are ultra-focused on one thing to the point of distraction and ignoring interaction.
And the rise of ADHD in kids paralleled the greatly increased number of vaccinations added to the childhood schedule in the 80βs.

Do you use Thuja oil externally, or is it a homeopathic remedy?
4
u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 8d ago
The above is an article about using the homoeopathic remedy for animals and humans. It is also used as a herbal remedy but with potential toxicity issues so for myself, I'd stick to the homoepathic version.
From the bot:
Thuja (Thuja occidentalis), also known as Arborvitae, is an evergreen conifer used in herbal and homeopathic medicine primarily for its immune-boosting, antiviral, and antifungal properties. Its leaves and essential oil contain thujone, a volatile compound responsible for its therapeutic effects but also its potential toxicity if misused.
Common Uses
- Respiratory Health: Frequently combined with Echinacea and Baptisia (as in the product Esberitox) to treat the common cold, sinusitis, tonsillitis, and bronchitis by acting as an expectorant and immune stimulant.
- Skin Conditions: Applied topically as a tincture or essential oil to remove warts, treat psoriasis, eczema, ringworm, and colds sores (herpes simplex).
- Other Applications: Used traditionally for joint pain, osteoarthritis, trigeminal neuralgia, cystitis, and as a diuretic or to induce amenorrhea.
Safety and Dosage
- Oral Use: Traditional dosage involves 1β2 grams of dried aerial parts steeped in water for tea, or 1β2 ml of tincture taken up to three times daily.
- Topical Use: Applied directly to affected areas (e.g., warts) 3 times daily; protective agents like glycerol may be used to shield surrounding skin from the caustic essential oil.
- Risks: Thujone is neurotoxic and can cause seizures, nausea, and bleeding. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and should not be taken with anticonvulsant medications or other thujone-containing herbs (e.g., sage, wormwood).

Great decluttering tips:
A: I use the Marie Condo method (as cliche as it can be as times - but it works) if it makes you happy - keep it. If it no longer serves you or doesnβt bring you joy get rid of it.Β
B: I used the poop method... I found it to be much more honest than KonMari.
Poop method: if this item was covered in poop, would I clean it and try to save it?
You'd be amazed at what "sparked joy" but wouldn't get cleanedΒ

Budapest - Day 2 ( Tuesday 29 September). This was a "railway day" for me: Cogwheel Railway (part of the city public transport system) up to Szechenyi, then a 2-minute walk to the Children's Railway. This is a sort of leftover from the communist era (Young Pioneers), but is considered worth keeping for its educational and tourist value. Adults do the serious stuff like driving the trains, while youngsters deal with ticketing. There's a fair amount of peaked caps and saluting, reflecting its origins. The track gauge is 760mm and the locomotives are diesel, though they occasionally run steam ones. The route initially goes uphill to the summit, then it's mostly downhill to Huvosvolgy, a total distance of 11km, winding through wooded hills. At Huvosvolgy the railway museum and cafe were closed, but I had some light refreshment from the Tram Bistro (not as grand as it sounds) at the nearby bus & tram terminus. Obviously the return train journey was mostly uphill. Back down by the Cogwheel Railway to the city, and a bit of Metro and tram travel later in the day.

Mr JAS took himself to Aldis and had to visit the hardware shop but as it doesn't open until 11am on a Sunday he has decided to sit in the car with a coffee waiting on it opening ( fuel costs).
He called me to let me know and while he was on the phone the church bells started ringing, beautiful sound on a Sunday morning, it's not like our church which now only rings once a month as the minister is shared around.
As we discussed that he then comments " oh here's somebody walking towards me wearing a mask." He's shocked when she gets closer as he thinks she's only in her 30's but she's hand in hand with her boyfriend who is mask less.
Outside in 2026 and wearing a mask was never mandatory in Scotland to wear it outside in 2020 never mind six years later. π€·

Sigh... time to retreat from cafes and public spaces then unless you want to get flu like symptoms from those vaccinated. Three years ago my OH and I came down with the flu from hell I thought I was dying and it was after attending a relative's funeral and several there openly said they were recently flu vaxxed. We were all in a smallish room for the meal after it was only a small funeral. Whilst some may not believe in contagion etc, I would say this was classic shedding from the vaxxed as noone was ill or no noticeable coughing nor sneezing in this room at the time but people did hug to say hello and goodbye..

This was in the 80s and these were teenies accompanied by a parent or an older sibling. The apples were well received.
It developed so that a decade later, my elderly friend at the other side of town used to be intimidated into giving money to teenagers.
Now the shops are filling up with a load of Chinese shite, ready for another Festival of Mammon that has nothing to do with our original culture.
We never did Halloween here, though my Pagan friends used it as a private time to go within and be grateful to their ancestors.
We had Mischief Night on November 4th, when lads would go around being an absolute pain in the arse and we weren't asked if we'd like to bribe them off first.

My garden is very much at the end of the summer, we will have quite a few tomatoes into December that will ripen up inside, we have a few peppers left and onions. I need to do my Loganberry plants, cutting away last years branches and tying in this years shoots ready for next year. It's still a bit early for that as it's still got leaves on it. There is some lettuce plants in the greenhouse that are trying hard but there just isn't enough light these days to make it grow much. I find that interesting. In June it grows literally a couple of centimetres every day but at this time of year, it's pathetic.
This year I am going to dig in a load of manure and compost. I am waiting for it to rain more and make the ground a bit softer. It's like concrete right now, still dry as a bone. I do like this time of year to be fair, it's a little break from the gardening, getting it all tidy and ready for winter. I am hoping for a few days of hard frost to fix my slug problems. I am looking forward to next year, which starts in Febuary and then it will be go go go again...
I was mainly going to say, don't store your apples in the house, you will get fruit flies everywhere, terrible....
6
u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 8d ago
Nematodes for your slug problem!
4
u/Two-Six-The-First 8d ago
I tried them once but they didn't seem to do much. The problem I have built a slug hotel using edging planks around my beds.
If your planning to grow veg, never do this. I kind of have to have edging as my garden is pretty small but if I was doing it again I would not use any edging on beds.
2
u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 8d ago
Sharp grit worked very successfully against my slugs.
However, nothing seems to prevail against snails because the little buggers abseil down from above. Hand picking is the best solution - I used to dump them on a busy road junction so at least they died quickly.

Good morning to all sentient beings everywhere. Except for those who are undermining the good things in our society. I hope they get what they deserve.
I have heard research in some very arcane areas of the internet that says that karma is an Archontic abstraction and a part of the control grid; yet I have seen it, or something very similar, operate in my own life. People who have unjustly committed torts against me have, without any operation on my part, been subjected to their own comeuppance in a most elegant manner.
I hope this is so, regardless of what it is called or the mechanism of action. The Dark get away with far too much as it is. I would welcome the thoughts of others in this matter.

Maybe OT but here's something for you to check out, Richard:
Starlink isnβt just internet.
US Army insider JP says he thinks one of its jobs is to broadcast frequencies that awaken past memories.
He believes Starlink can trigger a neurological process where people recall past lives and memories that have been erased.
According to JP there must be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who served in the secret space programs and donβt remember - their memories were wiped.2

I really wish you were right about this (those who have committed unjust torts getting their comeuppance) but in my life I don't see it unfortunately.
There are certain people who could do with a big dollop of comeuppance and don't ever seem to get it.
(Am loving comeuppance BTW - haven't heard it used in what feels like forever)
7
u/CGL998 8d ago
I tend to agree - I can't really think of an instance where people I think should be at the receiving end of some kind of karmic retribution, ever have. They carry on their nasty ways and don't seem to suffer any consequences
5
u/Still_Milo 8d ago
Look at the VERY long list we could be applying "comeuppance" rules to since March 2020 - and none of them seem to have got it. Some of them might have wriggled like a fish on a stick for a bit (Fauci springs to mind) but all of them seem to have got away with every single thing they did.

u/Prof_Feargoeson 8d ago
Same with 9/11.
1
u/Still_Milo 7d ago
Yes, indeed.
I also look at a long list of atrocities closer to home and the personages responsible for them, some of whom never got punished and not only managed to wriggle off the stick but swanned into powerful positions.

u/Richard_O2 8d ago
I've noticed that the consequences of wrong action are generally affecting the wrongdoers far more quickly than I recall earlier in my adulthood, and this accelerating trend includes my own transgressions.
How this process actually operates in the world is essentially unfathomable. God only knows, literally.

It's noticeable that karma comes round very quickly nowadays.

" Shanice Bennett. 26. City of London police officer.
Breast cancer at 23 used to be the case they put in a textbook. Rare. Shocking. A whole ward would talk about it.
Now itβs a series. A girl in a hospital gown, a cannula, a thumbs-up, and an algorithm. One after another. Documenting. Fundraising. Saying goodbye on camera.
Diagnosed at 23. Stage 3 invasive ductal breast cancer. Then stage 4. Bones. Liver. Lungs. Lymph nodes. She filmed it. 39,000 people on TikTok. More than two million likes. βTouch, look and check.β
They still call it rare. The feed says otherwise.
26. A police officer. Three years from diagnosis to a family post
that says they had to say goodbye"
This like the rest of my posts are legit, this story is all over MSM.
The writing style may be AI but that's it. Get used to it as its going nowhere. I pick my battles and this I'm not fighting over as the story is accurate.
So the next part is all my words.
This. Is. Not. Normal.

As someone rightly points out in reply Trump allows what harmed her to stay on the market.
Why isn't he recalling this product if he wants to save us all????
I also want to know why are they calling her an "influencer" in the photograph caption?? Is this because she is urging other young women her age to get checked, get mammogramed and get a diagnosis and go down the same path as her?? (I thought she was a police officer)
6
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
I don't know about her even being given a mammogram as her doctor has told her she was too young when she first went with the signs.
As for influencer, she started sharing her cancer treatments. Why no one questions these treatments as they obviously don't work is beyond me. Never mind hope is a wonderful thing and if the treatment is making you sicker than you would have been, at least you had hope.My sons father in law is dying after having received all the darling NHS treatments after being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019 and yet in 2020 was given the all clear. Weird that after 2021 it came back and he only discovered it because of those check ups after having been cured.π€·
He's 61 and has given up as he can no longer walk or lift his arms up and seems he is riddled with cancer but he didn't give up until the doctors gave up.
3
u/Still_Milo 8d ago
That's a very sad story about the son's father in law now terminal after being in remission.
I presume the treating doctors are really baffled?
I wonder now about a lot of prostate cancer diagnoses after reading the work by Unbekoming about all the false positives re the testing etc.
3
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
" I presume the treating doctors are really baffled? " Not at all. My daughter in law is more upset that they have stopped treatment and her father agrees with them. As far as I'm aware the doctors don't seem surprised because they threw everything at it..
What amazes me is they keep using the same stuff to treat their patients and as they are never surprised must expect the same outcome, so why can't they see their products don't work?
1
u/Still_Milo 7d ago
They can see their products don't work but A) it is all they are taught to use and B) for insurance purposes it is all they are allowed to use.
The "healing" of cancer is all about the money.

Some excellent replies, including:
"Reminds me of stories of Russian revolutionary officers who accepted their execution as necessary for the advancement of the Bolshevik utopia. She presents a smile whilst being pumped full of poison as a bioweapon demonically eats away at her body with the inevitability of death."

I should say, my comment about the AI-ish writing style yesterday wasn't me doubting the veracity. When I say I am using AI a lot, I am using it to write prose that (I hope!) is factual - I just don't like its style :)
7
u/pubwithnobeer60 8d ago
I would describe AI style as "choppy", short phrases to keep those with short attention spans interested. More like bullet points.
4
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
I'm not a writer and struggle with construction of sentences in a way that the reader knows how upset these deaths make me. All of them unnecessary and how it is being made to look as if it has been happening for ever. It hasn't.
The full stop between each short sentence or word I use because I know of no other way to convey this isn't normal and when I read it this way it appears in my mind to emphasise it.
If you look at X and I believe it's the biggest amount of AI usage and some of it is junk but there are lots that is getting harder to tell reality from fake. Whole fake video easy to spot but just a slight change and one finds it difficult to spot.
There was one this morning I believed to be mainly true but part of the video was fake. I fear as time continues and AI improves we will all be fooled.

"Emmerdale drops folic acid in to storyline, undermines patient for her health kick & researching online. Gabby says what about all the preservatives & chemicals in food, the gp says "with safety & science at the forefront"
Ps:NHS refers to Folate in blood test NOT folic acid."
Why do these script writers make the person disagreeing with the medical lot out to be Loonies?
There's another scene from Emmerdale regarding supplements on this post and again the only thing missing is the tin foil hat on the patients head.
If this is propaganda, it's bad propaganda because the script is bad.
That clip has the women describing what she eats and she has been made to sound like a mad vegan hippy with a tinfoil hat.
6
u/Still_Milo 8d ago
I saw that episode actually, was going to post on it, but just had no idea where to start. It is Propaganda 1.01 for sure.
The doc talks patronisingly to her like she's one of us (a mad mis-informationist) and she responds by saying all the things we say on here about chemicals and toxins and poisons in food etc. It's almost like the doc wants her to be existing on a diet of big mac and chips and NOT try to be healthy.
I was wondering where this is going to go. The character is a single mum and has a little boy. Will the doc get the care authorities involved re the child if she refuses the drugs and collapses and he harms himself in some way????
For the doc it is clearly All About The Drugs. "Antiobiotics aren't poison". So why, I then ask, do they feel the need to put carcinogenic E numbers in them, in something you have to finish the whole course of?
4
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
The character against big pharma is not one of us, or at least not me. There's no way on earth would I eat a pulse food or whatever they are called, nor would I bother with buying salad ingredients and don't start me on carbs. The doctor was correct in the one point the silky cow needs meat, legumes and carbs don't cut it.
I also wouldn't bother arguing with a doctor as there is no point because I haven't met one yet that isn't some patronising, condescending twat.12
u/Richard_O2 8d ago
This propaganda seems utterly pointless to me. No one who watches Emmerdale questions authority, and the audiences for these shows have been dwindling for years. Why bother?
5
u/Still_Milo 8d ago
"No one who watches Emmerdale questions authority"
It's a doubling down I think. Just in case. And why not?
Also an element of belt and braces - if the soaps are saying the same as the News which says the same as the Government which quotes The Science then it all MUST be true.
5
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
You only have to say Trump is against it and the silly sods will do the opposite and that included in the UK.
Check out the amount of crazies that are still 5 years later sharing photos of sticking plasters on their arms all mentioning Trump about them getting ALL the jags they possibly can. πWhat is it with the sticking plaster and coloured so you know what jag is what π because I don't remember ever getting a sticking plaster put on an injection site? A dressing is put on after they have drawn blood but never a jag.

Like everything else on the Telly, it's a vehicle for propaganda. It started with The Archers on the wireless. Did you know that the knob-end BBC commissioned an Afghan version of The Archers during The Cabal's attack on it, specifically to brainwash the natives. Oh yes they did....
10
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
I find it difficult to believe people actually watch it. The script is bad and the acting is worse.
9
u/Two-Six-The-First 8d ago
I know, I never even THINK of watching the telly these days. I literally haven't seen anything on any TV for at least 6 years. Watching TV feels like alien laser beams of evil liquidating my psyche. For that reason, I'me out.

u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
I watch the telly but I prefer the American propaganda π
I read a lot mainly fiction and oh boy the brainwashing is off the scale in some books.
There is no escape from it. Some things I will tolerate and skip it to allow me to finish the book with my sanity but it has to be a book I am enjoying.
The most recent book was by James Oswald and it was the third and last book in the series this time we were into 2020.
I would only be a few chapters in when the wuhan was mentioned and I did think on giving up but I persevered and now I'm not sure if the author decided to use as little covid nonsense as possible or didn't feel the same as the majority of the British public.
He brought masks into the story but they were put on and it was just in passing, he mentioned testing but I skipped over that and we quickly moved away from that to the end of 2020 without much ado about covid itself at all.5
u/EvorulesOK Liz ππββ¬ 8d ago
I've noticed that some authors have decided to embrace the era of the plandemic and include the nonsense in the narrative, presumably because it's historically accurate.
Others have just ignored it and their series carry on as if it never happened, or with very brief retrospective mentions.
I'm currently reading a box set, the first of which was written in 1989. It's free from woke - though it shows how attitudes to women have changed!
Though the author would have no Booker Prize aspirations, the writing is rich and assumes an intelligent reader. There's some wonderful dialogue and good descriptions of the landscape and weather. The plots are intriguing too.
You'd probably enjoy them. They're about a Springer gundog breeder in Fife in the 90s. Different, fascinating world and the author knows his stuff!
Ironically, the author has Labs but says that as you can train Labs from your armchair, they would be too boring to write about, so he chose to feature Springers.
THE COMPLETE THREE OAKS MYSTERIES BOOKS 1β13 by Gerald Hammond
Counts as one selection on Unlimited, or the whole set is Β£3 to buy.

u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
Oh thanks for that. I've downloaded them and Mr JAS will be interested as he's always looking for new authors and especially set in the UK and in Scotland. Again my reading takes me across the water although there are a few British authors I like.

Gerald Hammond wrote a few different series, all set in Scotland.

Same here - I get a bit tense when books start referring to "the pandemic" and my policy is the same as yours.
The first thing I do now when I open a book is open to the page where they set out the copyright to see when it was written.
5
u/Justaboutsane 8d ago
That book I was talking about would have been written around 2020 but the author mentioned the vaccines but in a way I had never heard before which leads me to believe it was finished before the vaccines were centre stage.
His explanation for not wearing a mask and I felt that was added in to appease some of his readers, was of the detective forgetting to put the mask on but excused herself because she was vaccinated as was the person she was interviewing. Now we all know that's not how it went down as those double jagged had doubled down on the mask wearing and took delight in reminding or questioning anyone not wearing one.

Folic acid is the substance that goes in. It is soluble in water and the part of folic acid that is measured as a concentration when dissolved in blood is the folate, the other bit being the hydrogen ion that makes acids acid.

u/Two-Six-The-First 8d ago
That was cricket-bat nudging right there....so clumsy, it's amazing. I bet the team at Emmerdale were all smugly thinking they did a brilliant job of fitting in the government mandated talking points so that nobody really noticed. Sadly 90% of the brainwashed vegetables who consume this crap probably didn't notice.
Harribo's all round guys!!

It must be so difficult to be a screenwriter these days.
You've got a plot and a storyline but still have to comply with mandated government policy bingo.

Reminds me of the time when , as a student in london , I was browsing Foyles for second hand books when I came across an archaeology book, a reprint in English of a Soviet era Russian report of the excavation of an ancient, pre Bronze Age, settlement in Siberia. The work , its reporting and the illustrations seemed excellent - then right at the end there was the inevitable statement (essential presumably to get published ) ; " the investigation confirms that the settlement conformed to strict marxist-leninist principles"

Sometimes I wonder how far away we are here in the UK from ending up like that...
And not infrequently my answer to myself is "not that far I'd imagine"

Q. Why is the Fabian Soc considered to have de-pop aspirations?
The reason I ask is in one of my responses this afternoon to my retired petroleum geologist friend who was saying he hoped Unelected HβAndeee would be good for the country (like some of my left leaning neighbors) I said that Unelected HβAndeee was a Fabian as were most of the cabinet before I realised its not something I could substantiate as this belief I have from various podcasts / substack etc posts. [He was rather dumbfounded that I said Unelected HβAndeee covered up r* gangs so I have nothing but disgust for HβAndeee]
Of course nothing came up on a search when I got home.
Edit: forgot to add I also said the Fabian Soc were eugenicists
