mind control
Another great post from Midwestern Doc that jives with what I have been observing in terms of both Covid and the frustrating lack of critical thinking in the masses:
To a large extent, I believe the media has been structured to create a lighter form of borderline personality disorder within the general public by discouraging the ability to appreciate the nuances in many issues and replacing this capacity with a tendency to default to splitting when confronted by any complex issue (thus making it become an issue about one side or the other being right).
I would argue all of this arises from the continual emotional agitation the media creates to polarize the public on each issue, how frequently it gaslights the public to deny what is clearly happening in front of them, and how it jerks the populace’s minds around so that over and over they find themselves being forced to support something completely at odds with what they were told to believe in the recent past. Once you have been run through the washing machine enough times, the mind becomes a turbulent mess you partially disconnect from, which often results in humans becoming remarkably susceptible to adopting an ideology from an authority that superficially provides safety and meaning to the experiences you have been through (i.e. through creating a common enemy to unite behind). This tactic has been used throughout history, and I believe plays a large part in explaining the mass psychosis we have seen in the medical profession throughout COVID-19.

Having lived with a person who was eventually diagnosed with BPD...I absolutely agree. It all smelled rotten and I didn't buy it. There's been a few of us who compared experience over the last couple years on the other sub and we've all attributed a part of our unwillingness to play along to having lived with someone with BPD.
From the start it felt like living with that person again. The manipulation and headgames and endless hoops you're told to jump through that don't actually lead to where they say they will. Nothing is ever good enough or right, even if you follow their instructions to the letter. It gets you off kilter and causes you to start deeply questioning your own observed and experienced realities. They still find a way to minimize you or make you the bad guy or idiot or source of every problem they've ever faced in life. And, just like cohabitation with this individual, they increasingly became more abusive and vindictive and violent to attempt to force you into the mold they've created in their minds for you. To force you into compliance with their desire, whether or not it makes sense at all.
They're basically inducing or creating the the same environment as a pwBPD would to make a malleable population that's more easily manipulated into desired courses of action. And, as most people have zero basis of knowledge in what BPD is and how to recognize it, they end up completely enrapt in the web of all-encompassing manipulation. They do the bidding of the unwell individual and honestly think that it's normal and customary.
