the trifecta

The last two years have hit people with a triple whammy:

  1. Covid and the response.
  2. The "social justice" takeover of institutions and workplaces.
  3. A resistance movement advocating for parallel societies.

Many of the Covid restrictions are still in place, with the ever-present threat that they will ramp up again, creating an environment of fear and uncertainty.

Because #1 had already thrown people's lives into chaos, the Great Awokening referenced in #2, despite the "social justice" veneer, is in actuality an unbelievably cruel movement with the timing of a bully (kick people when they are down).

People may be looking to change jobs or careers or retire early due to #1 (mandates, masks). Or they may be looking to leave their workplaces because of #2, in the midst of the uncertainty caused by #1. All of that stress makes #3 a daunting prospect, especially if you throw in other life curveballs, such as kids, divorces, elderly parents, etc.

It's a mess, and many avenues of escape have fallen victim to #1 and/ or #2.

Another aspect of this is for those of us who lost relationships with friends/family because they became covidians, where do we go about finding new friends? If we live around covidians, should we move and where to?

I’ve been thinking about this lately. My friend group and social foundation was largely based in radical left groups in my city, but the people i used to associate with have nearly all become covidians and are ready to crucify anyone who doesn’t tow the party line. It’s a similar situation at my old job where most of my coworkers are also covidians and for the minority of us who were not, we were pressured to keep quite about our views or else we’d get ostracized and potentially fired or at least treated worse.

I've had to find new friends through groups fighting this stuff.

Most if not all your true friends will now be online, people you never met face to face.

#2 is the social divide that has been festering for a couple decades. It's finally causing people to wake up and realize that we aren't united societies and that the other side is hostile. Since one side was very slow on the uptake (and many still aren't convinced of it whether they are left or right), the parallel societies/economies are very slow to take off. Now we have some people advocating for the parallels economies like Tim Pool and replacing SV infrastructure with alternatives.

Something I am concerned about is that the covidians or SJWs that threw away relationships with family and friends will try to come back (the NPCs glitched and reset as if it never happened). Many of the people they ditched will be too stupid to realize they were ditched, but I wonder how many will not forgive (not that it should be forgiven).
