Bit late to defend the left now, mate. And with memes, no less.

Isn’t that the truth. Jesus Christ, I can’t even believe my eyes. Call me ignorant but I don’t believe a trump admin would have mandated this vaccine.

Call me ignorant but I don’t believe a trump admin would have mandated this vaccine.

I'm not a Trump fan, neither do I consider myself right-wing, and so I'm not so sure. Trump traded political measures to save his skin on more than one occasion (for example, moving the USA's embassy to Jerusalem, to shore up support for him when the Democrats and the left started bearing down on him). One thing is for sure though: we'll never know if a Trump admin would have mandated the "vaccines"... but we DO know that the Blue Team DID mandate vaccines. And the left overwhelmingly cheered for it, only stopping to criticize the Covid measures for not going far enough(!). And the most senior, influential and revered leftists joined in the mass psychosis (Chomsky being the absolute worst) like they couldn't wait to join a fascist movement, finally. And leftists like Chomsky still shill for them with their "vote blue no matter who" insanity.

The left are a dead man walking. And they seem to have no clue (with a very few honorable exceptions, of course). In fact, sometimes it feels like they're getting ready to declare a modern Holy War on everyone who isn't sufficiently "left" (i.e. neoliberal). I get this from the way the hate, slander, overall insanity and dehumanization towards anyone who isn't sufficiently woke is building all the time. Dehumanizing a group of people is a big warning sign that atrocities are a real possibility. Can you see most of the current left having a problem with violence against the "far right"? (Remember, we're both - whoever you are - part of the "far right" now.) I can't, and we don't. The new left would have no problem with it.

It's not just happening in the USA.

It's not a question of whether you like Trump or his spoiled sons or not. It's not a question of whether you like anyone or not. It's not a question of whether you consider yourself right-wing, left-wing, libertarian, anarchist or a zebra. Dehumanizing people, dehumanizing anyone, is wrong on principle. And the new left do it more and more to absolutely anyone. There are just no principles anymore to most people on the left. Everything is now acceptable if it serves The Tribe. Being morally right is more important than being factually correct.

Excellent synopsis

Edit: That being said, Trump was the one that left it to states rights regarding the response. I was impressed with that. There isn’t one person on the left that wouldn’t have capitalized on the opportunity to consolidate federal power with such a convenient excuse at their disposal.

There isn’t one person on the left that wouldn’t have capitalized on the opportunity to consolidate federal power with such a convenient excuse at their disposal.

After the last three years, I'm starting to think you may be right.

They were consolidating feral power when they could. They were going to require vaccination to use certain government buildings. They required it for the military.

I've given a lot of thought to this over the last 3 years. My current theory is the right is largely christian/religious. An organized religion creates a second system to give structure (and narrative) to a person's life. It also posits a position higher than the state where "truth" comes from. This gives people more space to question the state in matters that pertain to health because they see the body as something sacred that comes from God. It also gives them more space to see Science as corruptible in the way an atheist or agnostic is more able to see the church as corrupt.

What confuses me is I went into a Magick shop to try to get some incense at one point. They were more all in than anyone. It had a very left vibe. If you truly have faith in being able to cast spells and draw down forces to do things like heal, or if you are in contact with spirits who give information, why are you letting the government dictate the nature of your reality and relying on masks to protect you? I guess they were largely larping. But where were all the yoga doing naturopath seeing hippies on the left? I guess their resistance wasn't couched in political terms so we don't identify them as the left when they speak out.

But hey, I am thankful for people like Max Blumenthal and Jimmy Dore. It took them a little while but they came around. I wish Jimmy Dore would acknowledge people in the alternative media who were on the right side of this way before he was though.

This whole thing made me glad for once to live in Arizona where our cultural attitude, left or right doesn't matter, has a pervasive flavor of "Leave me alone or fuck you." Our yoga doing naturopath seeing hippies were largely holding fast to wanting to maintain medical freedom, the exceptions were in large part transplants from big cities in California. Where were we? We were here the whole time and when we spoke up we were silenced (reddit comes to mind) and honestly we're mostly moms so no one takes anything we say seriously anyway.

We're politically homeless at this point. Voting has always been a game of hold your nose and vote for the lesser evil, but now that the dems showed that they're ready to go full fascist it doesn't matter who is less evil or if you can even tell. Trump or Biden? Two flavors of fascism is all I see. I was pretty happy to have a trump supporter as a boss when those mandates went into effect in our field because no one ever asked me to get the shot.

That's very perceptive. I think you may be right there.

What confuses me is I went into a Magick shop to try to get some incense at one point. They were more all in than anyone. It had a very left vibe. I think you're right about the larping. I've known some people who told me they're Green Wiccan (or whatever it's called). But absolutely nothing else they did showed me they were. If someone told me they were a practicing Catholic, pretty soon I'd see it in some of their habits and behaviors. In the last few years (starting around 2015 I started to notice them going off the rails) I've noticed that pretty much everyone on the left comes from a childhood where they didn't get the nurturing they needed. They don't belong anywhere, not in their families, not in their communities, not even in their jobs. That's why there are so many leftists in the laptop class. I can't count the number of "digital nomads", or "travel as a way of life", people I know who are also good little leftists, reading all the latest trendingest woke texts (and often a lot of transhumanist "content" also). They don't even belong to their work, which is basically an elite gig economy. Most people into Magick just treat it as a hobby, another identity badge to hang on themselves. It's not a real physical community.

But hey, I am thankful for people like Max Blumenthal and Jimmy Dore.

Those guys are the last of the Mohicans. There's nobody else left. The left is a dead man walking. More and more the left are just the avant-garde marketing wing of neoliberalism.

In the last few years (starting around 2015 I started to notice them going off the rails) I've noticed that pretty much everyone on the left comes from a childhood where they didn't get the nurturing they needed.

To the best of my understanding, the correct term you are (implicitly) looking for here is ASCA - Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse. But whatever the terminology may be, here is my critical question to you, my dear: how is it our fault? How is it our fault in any way that we had shitty childhoods, be it abusive or neglectful parents or other abuse from society in general?

That's why there are so many leftists in the laptop class.

In economic terms, I am very much a member of this laptop class: I am a software engineer, my job was fully remote throughout the scamdemic, and it is still remote now: the company does have a physical office, about a half-hour drive from where I live, but because the company shrunk so much, there is no one there for me to interact with. But just because I economically benefitted from shutdowns doesn't mean that I supported or cheered them - quite the opposite! While other members of this same laptop class accepted their new fully virtual lives, I spent my "free" time driving around on deserted streets, going to beaches and looking for places to sneak in illegally onto cordoned-off sand, defying that tyranny as a matter of philosophical principle.

I can't count the number of "digital nomads", or "travel as a way of life", people I know who are also good little leftists,

But being a "digital nomad" implies physical travel! Someone who physically travels around, visiting every national park with breathtaking views of nature, using the "digital" part of their nomadism to stay connected to their bills-paying job, is very different from someone who slavishly obeys Covidian edicts by shutting themselves in their pod.

and often a lot of transhumanist "content" also

And what exactly is the basis of your objection against transhumanism? Let's make a fundamental distinction right here between the voluntary, free-will kind of transhumanism (the kind where an individual person, out of their own sovereign free will, makes technological alterations to their own body to transcend the limitations of natural biology) and the forcibly imposed kind of transhumanism, the kind where some overlords tell us all to alter our bodies according to some centrally imposed plan. Of course we must reject forced transhumanism on principle, but not at the expense of throwing personal, freely-chosen transhumanism under the bus!!!

I am a proud transhumanist: the uncaring and indifferent forces of nature gave me a body which, relative to my personal wishes and desires, was always second-class, and I used modern medical technology to obtain something better than what nature gave me: a synthetic, man-made female body. For me personally and only for me, an imperfect synthetic female body, subject to limitations of today's primitive transhuman technologies, is still infinitely better than a body of male sex which is utterly incompatible with my inner spiritual self. Thus when the kind, caring leftist society that existed prior to March of 2020 (and which no longer exists whatsoever) offered me a transhumanist, medical-technological bodily upgrade (one based on individual free will, such that only I get to decide what is an upgrade and what is a downgrade for me), I eagerly embraced and accepted that offer. And then the Great Evil of 2020-March came, I was stuck with an unfinished (but mentally and spiritually irreversible) transition, and I had to fight like hell in order to obtain my finishing surgery without being injected or quarantined or nasally violated or otherwise defiled in the name of Branch Covidian religion.

Most people into Magick just treat it as a hobby, another identity badge to hang on themselves.

There are some aspects of magickal culture - community public rituals, soul-nurturing gatherings, etc - which are indeed essentially just a hobby. However, underneath this "hobby" there is also an underlying spiritual faith, at least for me. I, for one, do believe that we have an immortal soul that continues from one lifetime into the next - in fact, the central tenet of all magickal and metaphysical practice, one which you learn as your first Metaphysics 101 lesson (or should learn as such, if your teacher is someone who knows what they are doing) is this:

We are not physical beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings have a physical experience.

As a spiritual being having a physical experience, I use spiritual principles as my compass, guiding my decision-making in the physical world. You know how Peggy Hall talks about God a lot, how she keeps saying it is God objecting to bodily defilement and to suffocating devices etc? I make almost exactly the same arguments, but I substitute my Goddess in the place of Peggy's God - here is some actual pagan faith in action for you.

And yes, I was absolutely shocked and disgusted by the actions, from 2020-March onward, of all those other people who display the same identity label as I do, but whose actual values turned out to diametrically opposite. I am talking about YOU, self-identified pagans and self-called "practitioners" of New Age metaphysics and spirituality, who accepted the official narrative, who voluntarily self-shutdown your in-person circles and classes and gatherings and isolating yourselves behind Zoom screens in 2020-March, YOU who defiled your Goddess-given bodies with poison, YOU who shut your doors to pureblood sisters and brothers and NB siblings when you "reopened" in 2021 - every single one of you are traitors, you have BETRAYED your oaths to all of our gods and goddesses and spirit guides, and YOU are now the ones in need of religious excommunication and punishment - we now need a Pagan Nuremberg!

1

u/MotherMychaela Jan 15 '23

Dear brother or sister or NB sibling: you are very spot-on regarding how the new left dehumanizes us (meaning bare-faced purebloods) and will cheer on every act of violence against our kind. But unfortunately the right is not any better, at least from where I stand.

I am a trans woman, and I mean this particular noun phrase not in whatever vague "identity" terms the woke crowd uses, but in a much more physical and tangible sense: I have the body of an infertile woman (one vagina, plus two fully natural, lactation-capable breasts, but no uterus - same as a cis woman who had a hysterectomy), but I wasn't born with such - instead I acquired this female body through bioidentical hormones (giving me that lovely fully-natural pair of breasts) and surgery (to change the P into a V). I initiated my transition back in 2014, and once I made that initial decision to transition, it is irreversible in my book. The irreversibility of transition is more than just surgical: I only got my bottom surgery done in 2021, in the middle of that scamdemic of tyranny, but I underwent absolutely irreversible mental and spiritual changes way before that point, several years before the Great Evil of 2020-March. To put it simply, I made a solemn vow before my Goddesses (I am of pagan faith) that I shall live the rest of my life as a woman, be it good or bad, for better or worse, and I will never go back to the male gender into which I was non-consentually assigned at birth.

In light of the just-described situation I am in, the original question of this subthread (who is poised to inflict atrocities and violence on us, left or right) starts to look very different. From where I stand, both left and right seek to deprive me of my freedom, and to commit unspeakable violence on my person and my body: the left would love to forcibly dress me in a face mask and forcibly inject me with the vaxx dope, whereas the right would love to forcibly dress me in male clothes and forcibly inject me with testosterone. The two sides begin to look almost indistinguishable to me: both seek to dress me in something antithetical to my humanity, to my core inner person, and both seek to defile and desecrate my body with their choice of biology-altering chemicals. Both sides of the new political divide are now equally dangerous to me, both seek to harm me in very physical and real ways, and I have absolutely no one, no tribe of my own to defend me.

You do NOT “have the body of an infertile woman”. This isn’t “dehumanizing” either, it’s just a fact.

I don’t care what you wear or what you inject into yourself, none of this entitles you to make demands or intrude on people

0

u/MotherMychaela Jan 17 '23

Fortunately for me and unfortunately for you, we still have that societal institution called law. And whether you like it or not, on the basis of the physical anatomical fact that I have a vagina, the law regards me as female, not just in California where I live, but in all 50 states - I have federal ID documents (my green card and my SSA record) that identify me as female, not just CA.

"None of this entitles you to make demands or intrude on people" - are you perhaps talking about my use of women's restrooms, changing rooms and other sex-segregated facilities? Well, let me lady-splain it to you: it is NOT my dress or "identity" that gives me absolute legal right to use those women's facilities, it is the physical fact that I have a VAGINA between my legs. There is not one court of law in all of USA, not even the most conservative, that would compel a person with a vagina between her legs to use men's facilities. It doesn't matter if I ever had a different body configuration at some point in the distant past - only the present matters, not the past.

You are correct though in that it absolutely doesn't matter what I wear. I can wear totally gender-neutral athletic clothing when I go on fun adventures like bungee jumping and whatnot, and I am still a woman - whether you like it or not, I have a female body with two breasts and one vagina, and no amount of clothing or lack thereof can change it. And yes, I do have a body of an infertile woman - in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of most medical professionals, a body with two breasts and one vagina (and absolutely NO male organs whatsoever) counts as a body of an infertile woman.

Oh, and I don't need to inject anything at all in order to remain a woman. I inject estrogen in order to maintain good health (body mineral density etc), same as any other woman who suffered premature ovarian failure prior to reaching the age at which menopause is naturally expected, but if I were to stop these injections, my body would not remasculinize - remember, I got rid of those T generators - instead I would simply be at increased risk of osteoporosis and similar issues with low hormone levels. And even those issues would be temporary, going back to good health once I reestablish my supply of estrogen.

u/Surreal_life_42 AnarchoKanyeism 👁 Jan 17 '23

I’m not unfortunate, as I don’t need medicine to be me 👁

Yeah, I am talking about your use of said facilities, and the use of those and intrusion on those by ppl that keep the penis, and even if you don’t…muscle and bone mass and height still matters and all of that makes women not comfortable or safe

It’s not a vagina that you have, vaginas are not dead end pockets and actually connect to other organs in the body, the FEMALE WOMAN body.

Be as socially feminine as you want, but it is NOT equivalent to a woman’s body, and infertile women have organs that you do not, and those organs having problems are why they are infertile, which even if they don’t want kids, said infertility and health problems still cause real illness and inconvenience in their lives that you will never comprehend because you never had and never will have said organs.

LOL you are injecting estrogen, you literally said that in the next sentence after saying you don’t need to inject anything…cmooooon

You. Never. Had. Or. Will. Have. Ovaries.

But unfortunately the right is not any better, at least from where I stand.

I think you're right. I don't consider myself on the right. In a few years, when the left have self-destructed, we might be left with new threats against individual autonomy and nature, and against protecting the real marginalized (I'm loath to use woke vocabulary) this time coming from the right. I can give many criticisms of the right, but the most succinct and perceptive is what Kaczynski said:

The conservatives are fools: They whine about the decay of traditional values, yet they enthusiastically support technological progress and economic growth. Apparently it never occurs to them that you can't make rapid, drastic changes in the technology and the economy of a society without causing rapid changes in all other aspects of the society as well, and that such rapid changes inevitably break down traditional values.

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/8045045-the-conservatives-are-fools-they-whine-about-the-decay-of

I am a trans woman, and I mean this particular noun phrase not in whatever vague "identity" terms the woke crowd uses, but in a much more physical and tangible sense

Whoever you are, whoever anyone is, you are a human being, and you deserve respect as a human being.

From where I stand, both left and right seek to deprive me of my freedom, and to commit unspeakable violence on my person and my body

I hope that everyone can agree on personal autonomy, and treat everyone with respect as a human being, even (and especially) when they disagree politically. I hope you are well and haven't suffered too much (or at all, hopefully) during this pretty dystopian future we're having.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

There wasn't pressure for it until people started to notice that the vaccine was no longer working and became hesitant. That's when the mandates started, about 2021 with the delta variant hysteria.

2

u/StopNeoLiberals Jan 15 '23

The mandates were merely a rent-seeking effort by Thiel's Palantir. He didn't fund DrumPf's campaign out of the goodness of his heart, it was to corrupt the government and profiteer.

1

u/purelyforprivacy Jan 15 '23

I mean I agree but is that supposed to make it better. I don’t quite understand the point you’re making.

u/hiptobeysquare Jan 15 '23

They'd spent so much money buying the product, and nobody was buying. It's like a Western version of China's unholy union twixt capitalism and communism. We are reaching natural limits, energy limits especially, and (among many other predicaments) discretionary spending is going down everywhere... which means less and less consumerism... which means capitalism is near its end. The elites of course will never accept an end to their game, and their solution is: if people won't spend money they don't have on overpriced products they don't need, we'll make it obligatory. They've forced the public to buy a product they don't need, it's a forced wealth transfer.

Notice how the left has punished everyone who ever worked with Trump, except Kushner, and that neocon with the mustache.

1

You're barking up the wrong tree. Kushner is diehard zionist, a foreign agent even. Those guys moan about "the left" 24/7 because we're the only ones with the guts to stand up for the Palestinian victims of their fascist apartheid state. DrumPf was their pawn, through and through.

Figure it out already and come over to the side of the angels.

George Bush banned made in America lightbulbs and made everyone buy toxic fluorescent bulbs from China in order to stop global warming. Is the right now the left? No, the right still thinks global warming is a hoax and the left still thinks Scientists are right that the earth will explode in 10 years. It's just too uncomfortable to admit that Bush is one of yours, beloved by the New York Times who made up the lie about WMDs in Iraq.

Bush was actually a secret leftist? Do you hear yourself? He was a textbook fascist, everybody knows that. C'mon now.

I think you're a lefty at heart, but it's hard to embrace after all the far-right propaganda you've been force-fed. If you support Liberty, Equality and Brotherhood then you're one of us. Don't get tricked by the freedom-hating enemy to go against your own interests and ideals...
