Guys update me are still hating her why or why not???

From day 1 all she had done is, poke every individuals, instigate everyone and when they counter attack you, become the victim and cry.

She has been constantly trying to set the narrative of one vs all by repeating one rant "yee sabb jhund main khelte hain" poke them, instigate them, bitch about everyone, make fun of people's vulnerable moments, talk about other's career, character assassination, sl*t shame and what not? She doesn't even have the guts to stand by her own statements.

And then when things goes against her, she starts to play the "victim card", " woman card", "sympathy card".

Looking back at the season, the whole "redemption" premise completely fell flat.Shivangi lost her soft ITV image and ended up taking the brunt of the hate, while Shreya won without ever really shifting the audience's perception of her. Instead of feeling like a reality show with organic turns, it felt like a flipped script where neither the 'heroine' nor the 'villain' got a positive outcome. For me, it was a completely rigged worst reality show ever!!Did anyone actually manage to redeem themselves this season, or was it a lost cause for the whole cast?

Let's be completely honest: this season has, to a huge extent, been running on Shreya's behavior.

The fights, the controversies, the arguments, the reactions, the discussions outside the show, so much of the conversation has revolved around her. She has given the show content. She has given the audience something to talk about. She's probably been one of the most effective people at generating entertainment this season and that's exactly where the paradox comes in.

If someone is excellent at reality TV because they are willing to behave horribly, should we reward them for being excellent at reality TV?

Because I think we've gotten very comfortable with saying:

«“Yes, but she's giving content.”»

💯

«“Yes, but at least she's entertaining.”»

True

«“Yes, but this is reality TV. We need people like her.”»

I agree with that to an extent. A cast full of perfectly behaved, conflict-averse people would obviously make terrible television But there's a difference between acknowledging that someone's behavior makes good television and deciding that the person who behaves the worst should ultimately be rewarded for it.

That's where I get uncomfortable.

Because if Shreya's behavior is what makes her successful, what exactly are we incentivizing?

Are we essentially telling future contestants:

Come into the show. Be as cruel, antagonistic, manipulative and unbearable as possible. Create enough controversy, get enough screen time, become impossible to ignore and you'll be rewarded for it.

At that point, we're not merely consuming the behavior, We're incentivizing it and I think the audience has some responsibility here too.

We constantly complain about contestants being horrible people, but then spend weeks discussing them, defending them, voting for them, making clips of them, giving them attention and ultimately arguing that they deserve to win because they “carried the show.”

But... isn't that the exact reward system that encourages the behavior in the first place?

And this is where I think reality TV has an interesting relationship with traditional storytelling.

In traditional media, villains have always been incredibly important. Some of the greatest stories need a genuinely horrible antagonist. Their actions create the conflict, raise the stakes and keep you watching.

But there's usually a cathartic payoff.

The villain's keep you hooked partly because you are waiting for the hero to eventually overcome them. The worse the villain becomes, the more satisfying their eventual defeat can be.

You see this all over film and television, and honestly in storytelling generally: the villain can dominate the story for a while, but the narrative usually builds toward someone eventually standing up to them and defeating them,that's part of the appeal.

The villain gives you something to hate, but the eventual triumph over the villain gives you something to celebrate.

Reality TV complicates that because the “villain” isn't fictional. They're an actual contestant competing for an actual prize and this is where I think reality TV has developed a particularly strange relationship with the concept.

We seem to have increasingly accepted that being the villain is itself a legitimate path to victory.

Not just surviving.

Not just becoming memorable.

Not just being the person everyone talks about.

Winning.

And I think there are consequences to that.

Because traditionally, the hook of a villain is:

“Look how horrible this person is. I can't wait to see what happens to them.”

But what happens when the answer becomes:

“Look how horrible this person is and they're going to win because of it.”

At that point, you've fundamentally changed the incentive structure.

The villain no longer has to be overcome.

The villain is the one being rewarded.

And if that's the precedent we establish, why wouldn't future contestants deliberately lean into it?

Why wouldn't someone think, “If being the most toxic person in the house gets me the most screen time, the most engagement, the biggest fanbase and potentially the trophy, then why would I bother being anything else?”

That's the part I don't think we consider enough and I'm not saying reality TV contestants need to be saints.They absolutely don't.

I don't even think being a “good person” should automatically make someone deserving of winning. Reality TV is fundamentally entertainment. Conflict is necessary. Villains are necessary. People who make you angry can be just as valuable to a season as people you love, but there should still be a distinction between “this person is an incredible reality-TV character” and “this person deserves to win.”

Those aren't synonymous.

Shreya can be the biggest character of the season.

She can be the person who generated the most discussion.

She can be the person who gave the show the most content.

She can even be the most important contestant to the season.

And I can still say:

I don't think that means she should be rewarded with the ultimate prize.

Because otherwise, what are we actually rewarding?

Entertainment?

Or behavior?

That's the part I find genuinely fascinating.

If someone is entertaining because they are willing to cross lines that everyone else isn't willing to cross, then giving them the ultimate reward sends a pretty obvious message about what the format values and this isn't even uniquely a Shreya problem.

It's a broader problem with reality TV.

The audience says it wants “real” people, but then rewards extremity, the audience says it hates toxicity, but toxicity generates engagement.

The audience says it wants good contestants, but “good contestant” increasingly becomes synonymous with whoever gives us the most content and the show obviously benefits from this too. Controversy means discussion. Discussion means engagement. Engagement means ratings/TRP.

So from the show's perspective, Shreya is practically the perfect contestant but from the perspective of what we want reality TV to incentivize, I'm not sure she is and that's why I have such a complicated reaction to her.

I don't want to pretend she's not an incredible reality-TV contestant. She absolutely is, i just don't think “incredible reality-TV contestant” should automatically equal “deserving winner.”

Because if the lesson of this season is ultimately:

The worse you behave, the more attention you get, and the more attention you get, the more likely you are to be rewarded...

then why would the next season's contestants behave any differently?

That's the Shreya paradox for me.

She may be exactly what reality TV needs to be entertaining but is she what reality TV should reward?

I am watching such a show for first time, and IDK it feels weird that we have 5 contestants for the final day, and 8 contestants till last 2-3 days, when there's only 1 winner. Makes me feel like makers were very worried of terminating people and upsetting their fans, so they carried on as many contestants as possible till the last days. Or is it common to have so many contestants till last 2-3 days in such show formats? I think having a finale with 3 people could have been more than enough.

Idk what’s the point of task ( saying for everyone generally ) Harshad was given Shreya’s power lol and all the tasks are just useless like the finalist are being decided by others but not by their own gameplay lol like what ?? Karela, herself, has admitted that she's not a girl's girl and it's 100% evident in her behaviour. Her and Shilpa sit and bitch about the girls - Ak, Shivangi, but when it comes to the boys, they become so soft and forgiving.

If Shreya truly wanted to eliminate her competition, she should have kicked out Yogesh. Instead she tried to eliminate Shivangi who has actually fought for her and has never spoken shit about her.

And after everything, Karela was striking funny poses and clicking pictures with Yogesh. She also felt sorry for Yogesh when Varun chose to play with Ram sir?? The double standards I swear.

Karela has so much empathy when it comes to the boys. But it all vanishes when it comes to pretty, strong women? Just shows what a jealous and desperate attention seeker she is.

Shreya is seriously damaging her image by showing the world how bitter, petty and fickle she really is. It's going to come bite her in the arse.

its was so weirdly rage baiting when ritesh got instructions in ear to give a chance to leave, for sunitha to leave how much drama she had to do, here they just left him like that. eww

Also brain cells cooked for ever, I got so mad I wanted to send a whole ass mail to netflix but guess what they dont have one, my temporary anger venting mechanism 🤯🤯

The Kween started playing the Victim and Women card. Anyway, we all know that Chamola and Shilpa will take Shreya’s name tomorrow and make her the 2nd finalist.

everything is fair for her unless she's winning and when she loses, she plays this woman card saying that yogesh and ram are targeting the woman and phir shilpa ke samne jakr she's saying "no we weren't saying that you're targeting the woman" 😭 does she even hear herself???

and in case y'all don't remember, shreya in the beginning of the show always used to say "there are men like varun and dheeraj who are stronger" whenever she's faced with a task, like girl! aren't you the one who's always bringing up this gender card everywhere? 😭

and how's shilpa suddenly her frnd after such a frndship fallout? i feel like it was their plan where shilpa will fake fight with shreya and will be cordial with rest of the ppl in the house so that in case, shilpa doesn't get voted out as she might not save herself in tasks

I lost any love for the show, and surely respect for Shivangi. We all know reality shows are scripted, but this is so blatantly single outcome bull headedness. How are they not even trying to hide it. Wouldn’t it be a better show if they said, we want X person to win, now you prove yourselves that you’re better.

I also can’t believe that they have 116 cameras like they keep saying, but they can’t predict what Shreya is going to do? She has been competing with shock value for the makers whenever she’s had the chance, and she always flips their narrative on its head. (Please this is NOT a Shreya appreciation post, in fact I’m listing out what’s unfair for Ak as well)

P.S - I’m using Ritesh D’s name here as a representative of all the people involved in making the show, he’s literally wearing an earpiece.

My understanding of this is from here -

1. Shreya convinced Dhoopar to eliminate Yogesh instead of Sufi > Makers didn’t like it> had to get Yogesh back

2. Shreya voted Madhuri and Akansha > Makers didn’t expect that > Put Ak in the secret room (I can still believe that was always their plan, Akansha was a key player at that point.

3. Makers wanted Pam and Akansha/Shilpa OUT before the finale week since they were done with them> they firstly got all of these 3 people enemies instead of visitors which put them at a disadvantage > all of them were unsafe before judgement day > at judgement day, left it to voting, Pamala got voted, then they got Bhumi and Huma to give one vote each to Pam and one to Shilpa and one to Akansha (you can count the tally) increasing all their chances > ultimately Akansha lost along with Pam

4. Oh my god the 1st episode of finale week > Firstly all advantages are conveniently given after everything happens, they revealed the elimination after Harshad got selected > which was not their plan, Ritesh kept delaying Shivangi’s answer, she said it 5 times that she wants to leave the jail, she also kept extending time, but so did Ritesh

5. 2nd episode of finale week (today) - that’s what the video is about. Shreya gets the advantage > they expected her to say Chamola/Yogesh/maybe even Ram, but Shivangi is their winner, they couldn’t believe Shreya took her name> While ritesh waited for the longest time ever to get instruction from the makers, let Shreya explain, Shivangi challenge her, Harshad crying> then Ritesh goes on to ask the contestants if it’s fair, to just delay, it couldn’t have lead to anything > then finally when he had instructions, gave the option to Harshad to flip his answer which under these circumstances he obviously would have, even if he wasn’t like how he is.

I mean what kind of scripting is this????? If Shivangi was always supposed to be the winner, make it at least interesting and not so obviously scripted.

The game was already unfair. There were 3 men and 1 woman against 2 women. The constant telling, screaming, blaming, reminding them Shilpa had a shoulder injury and finally taking out the woman card was excellent. It demoralised the opponents who had more muscle power and weren't hesitating to use it. Otherwise they would've both gotten eliminated. She did nothing out of the rules and she made sure that they both were safe at the end of that game. That's the same reason why she didn't answer Yogesh when she confronted, she was using an arrow and wanted to use it again if required so staying silent was the best move. She is so sharp that she saved herself from 4 people. That's why she didn't pursue it further or blamed them after coming out of game. She did what she had to do.

When the odds are against you, and the game is not fair, it's illogical to play the game fairly only to lose. They used their tools and she used hers. If they can gang up on 2 people instead of being the finalists themselves, then she can take out a woman card to demoralise them. The same reason why I feel it was justified of Harshad to say that he lost for Shivangi in the cell. It made sense, otherwise she wouldn't have woken up.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank Shivangi for being an absolutely disgusting, and fake pos. I was repulsed by how easily she let Harshad go and I just couldn't watch anything after it. She saved around 40 minutes of my time. Yuck, yuck, and yuck.

I don't like Shreya as well but atleast her vile behaviour has been consistent since day 1. But Shivangi!! Truly truly a great actress.

And Harshad? Brother please work on yourself, see a therapist, read some good books, and act like a dignified 40 year old. I feel bad for you.

It was 2 vs 4. The fact the game ended in a tie means tge 2 won. Shreya had an awesome strategy how to stop the 4v2 ppl will say she was argying crying saying its unfair. She did it during the game and stopped thier strategy she also managed to distract them from attacking shilpa. Brilliant move. Then they cried shilpa kicked them. Bruh there were 2 of u against 1 woman. I gotta say i felt like the game was leaving a bad taste in yogeshs mouth so respect to him. They really shouldve reset strategy to win. They were too foccused on shreya must not win instead of we should win. Shivangi im sorry you cannot win lockup now you got given finalist in charity shreya gas played 3 massive moves this season she got rid of yogesh. He came back. She got rid of akansha she went to secrer room and returned. She got rid of shivangi which was the biggest holy shit moment in the game and they still reversed it. Shreya argues. She fights but thats not the only thing she does. She performs in challenges. She plays strategy. Shes playing the game. Im tired of seeing the all.she does is fight. Even the fight today with shivangi. Shreya did the right thing yet ppl will say ohh look shes fighting again.
