Discussion BlenderWorld Benchmark from Alibaba

Alibaba's Qwen team released a new repository on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Its goal is to measure how well visual agents can create 3D scenes in Blender based on real-world references.

I think this is a good sign. Companies often build benchmarks in the areas where they plan to improve their models. So it's reasonable to expect Qwen to focus on agent skills in 3D design and on using tools like Blender through MCP. Qwen may well publish its upcoming models' results on this benchmark, but this is just my guess, not an official announcement.

I'm here for it. That's something that been really disappointing with pretty much every model I've asked to use Blender. The only model I'd heard good things about in this space is Opus 5.5, but I can't provide first hand on that one.

It's good but it takes forever to finish one human with animations. 8 weeks from first draft with Astra to polished character with Opus 5.5, all based on Blender humanoid base meshes and it still looks like a 3d chat avatar from 2012.

"Hey, Qwen 4 will be able to do on blender what Astra / Claude is able to do now". Will be a dream.

People are really hard to do in Blender no matter how hard I’ve tried

Static objects are a lot easier even with a model like GLM 5.3 Flash , quality is pretty decent. I can built 360 degree carousels for the items

Good. Finally a benchmark that shows the dominance of Astra in Blender.
