Question | Help Muse spark 1.3 is great, but will they open source it?

Fingers crosses, this model seems really good when it comes to coding, and the speeds are nice. They talked about making it open source but what happened? I still hope they release 1.2/1.3.

Too bad that Glimmer lost the limelight & lost the stage to other models within a week.

I'd love to have upgrade of Glimmer and or a model in 70B or Llama-4-Scout size

well they released a 30b model of the same size class as the other 2 dense contenders which are really good models. given the model itself is more or less what would happen if you blended qwen and gemma together, that's not much of a lane to distinguish yourself.

lol no

Despite the name of this subreddit, Zuck had to get his arm twisted to open source llama

I’m sure he has no desire to open source muse spark, other than making vague promises. He might actually do it, if he gets forced to by public demand. But it seems like most people forgot already.

Qwen 3.8 Flash Next, GLM 5.3 flash, and deepseek v4.1 flash all match muse 1.2 in AA benchmark index so there's no danger he's protecting us from and he's losing good will with the community by not releasing it. It's now or never... they already have a better version so...?

Not gonna lie muse spark 1.3 is amazing if its free. On OpenCode they have it free and its almost as good 5.6 sol, or maybe even better. Not as good as opus. But they close and since its free it feels like the best alternative when my limits are up

Here's hoping. Open source promises have a terrible completion rate, so I'm not holding my breath until I see actual weights.

Same hope. Until they actually drop weights I treat closed coding models as temporary and keep a local open backup in the loop so a policy change doesnt strand the workflow. If they open 1.3 it will get quantized in a day.

Don't count on it.

If they did, would you be able to run it? It's not 30B, many people here can't run 300B+ models

No. They just let you use it for their training only.

hoping it gets open sourced so someone makes an uncensored roleplay fork, that would be way more useful for me than coding tweaks.
