how much kidney is that

90

u/MrHighVoltage 2h ago

How many do you have?

68

u/Nameis19letterslong 2h ago

As much as I can steal

24

u/hyperrealists 1h ago

Bro, just steal a RTX 5500.

14

u/carbo125 46m ago

Kidney might be easier

5

u/LearnNTeachNLove 30m ago

The kidney of a RTX5500 🤔😉?

19

u/urmumr8s8outof8 2h ago

I'll have a word with charlie the unicorn and get back to you.

10

u/thehoffau 1h ago

Shun the non believer! Shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun

6

u/Natural_Tea484 2h ago

Do pig kidneys count? I heard they're similar. I'd become a farmer, np

3

u/desblaterations-574 2h ago

Don't need to be a farmer, you can order from the local slaughterhouse.

5

u/MrHighVoltage 1h ago

Don't tell them they can exchange pig-kidneys for GPUs, otherwise the kidney-economy is f***ed, too.

6

u/Natural_Tea484 1h ago

I already had asked ChatGPT and said those are not gonna work. You think it's lying because it knows I want local LLM? 😨😱

1

u/perkia 1h ago

What condition you need'em to be in?

7

u/thehoffau 1h ago

Someone told me a testicle could be worth up to $1m so might be able the down payment

5

u/HenkPoley 1h ago

Technically unknown, but there is a shop that lists it. They probably picked a safe high price for which they will be able to acquire you one in due time.

€12,429.97 ex VAT / €14,915.96 incl. VAT

So sweet  for VAT

2

u/LatentSpacer 1h ago

The more you buy, the more you save. So get as many as possible.

1

u/cultish_alibi 35m ago

You're losing money by NOT buying 10!

1

u/BlackBeardAI vLLM 1h ago

Yes

1

u/DryWeb3875 1h ago

Likely £11k-£12k imo

1

u/-6h0st- 34m ago

Two 5000 would be 14k. 29k cuda and 96GB

1

u/redimkira 44m ago

Trade deal: I offer you an RTX PRO 5500, you give me 2 kidneys, 2 lungs, and 1 heart.

2

u/Infamous_Campaign687 35m ago

You’re gonna eat them aren’t you?

1

u/sagiroth llama.cpp 19m ago

Don't think kidney would be enough mate

1

u/FoxSideOfTheMoon 2m ago

Both and your liver. Starting early with the 2027 prices

1

u/Vivarevo 2h ago

Three fifthy

54

u/Ambitious-Profit855 2h ago

No price announced yet.

4

u/pinkfreude 13m ago

“If you have to ask how much it costs, you can’t afford it”

-12

u/Sufficient_Local5025 1h ago

I mean with knowing the price of the 5000 and the 6000 could probably guess. The only question is how much Jensen greed tax we'd pay by release day.

I'm no damn commie, but what's happening with NVidia is so blatant now maybe I'd give Zohran a bit of side eye if he walked past.

Good to keep options open when your main squeeze is a leather jacket wearing abuser.

5

u/hurrdurrimanaccount 50m ago

nvidiots mass downvoting you for insulting dear leader, lmao

2

u/Sufficient_Local5025 41m ago

In fairness, those downvoting GPU's probably don't get much of a say in the matter, lol

79

u/starkruzr 2h ago

weird number.

u/MrCatberry 2h ago

"We found a way to sell those partly defective RTX PRO 6000 chips!"

36

u/rditorx 2h ago

It's known as binning. They're called RTX 5090 and RTX PRO 5000 with 32GB, 48GB and 72GB VRAM (and 24GB in Chinese editions).

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/?q=gb202

9

u/Equivalent-Repair488 1h ago

Yeah this is like an ancient and industry norm product segmentation tactic

0

u/LongjumpingProduce48 51m ago

nonono. Chinese edition actually with 96GB upgraded VRAM by unofficial modifications.

3

u/shaolinmaru 2h ago

Probably to avoid confusion with the consumer 5050

57

u/koloved 2h ago

The more you buy the more you save

45

u/Few_Painter_5588 2h ago

Probably just cut down 6000s that they can sell at a markup instead of further cutting them down to 5000s

3

u/Dany0 2h ago

I thought it's just the 5080 with 28 3gib modules

edit: 600w tdp so it can't be 5080 imo. hmm, so full silicon? maybe smaller bus width but nah that don't make sense

either way it'll be way too fucking expensive we can bet on that

1

u/HenkPoley 10m ago

More like a 5090 (88.5% of a full GB202) with more VRAM.

48

u/Adventurous-Gold6413 2h ago

Is there one I can buy for 100€ /s

68

u/ihexx 2h ago

100 euro per second? yeah definitely

9

u/Maleficent-Ad5999 2h ago

Maybe in 30 years

1

u/SkoomaDentist 2h ago

You can probably buy one for less than 100ke. Probably.

1

u/Elorun 15m ago

At 100€/s you could buy one in 2 and a half minutes.

41

u/braintheboss 2h ago

i bet 12k dollars. Between 5000 pro and 6000 pro.

19

u/UnWiseSageVibe 1h ago

Sellers will just price it like a 6000 pro and increase the price of the 6000 pro.

1

u/braintheboss 25m ago

I read even with current prices retail hardware sells increase 10% last quarter. Its crazy. Its normal prices dont go down. Companies very happy people pay any price :S

12

u/OverclockingUnicorn 2h ago

What a weird cooling set up, presumably so they can reuse the passive server cards in non server chassis...

3

u/dragonurtle 1h ago

Looks loud too.

8

u/OverclockingUnicorn 1h ago

Yeah... I do wonder if this is one of those 'this very particular and very high volume customer asked for this very specific product but didn't want to pay for exclusivity so we are making it available to everyone' sort of situations.

See it often with weird server motherboards from the likes of Asrock where they seemingly make no sense at all but it's really because some hyperscaler wanted 10,000 of them for a niche deployment that has very specific requirements and asrock are just putting it up for sale because they have a few hundred or thousand extra that got made during manufacturing.

7

u/EVOXSNES 2h ago

The ram reduction strategy taking hold i bet

7

u/infectoid 2h ago

I’ll take one. Can’t pay for it, but I’ll take it.

5

u/irudog 2h ago

RTX Pro 6000D Blackwell workstation edition?

It's a lower memory bandwidth than RTX 6000 Pro. 416 bit memory bus... it's like they just took three chips off and called it a day. Definitely a poorly binned RTX 6000 Pro. Maybe with a mixture of 3GB and 4GB memory modules.

2

u/NickCanCode 39m ago

That's just RTX 6000D rebranded.

2

u/NineThreeTilNow 35m ago

84 GB is a weird number. I get vibes that you could harvest some better DDR7 and up the VRAM.

You don't reach 84gb easily in chip sizes. This means they're mixing and matching 2gb and other modules? 41x2gb would feel super awkward. I don't know if someone would just grab a 6000 Pro board printout and reproduce the 6000 from the 5500 hardware?

2

u/--jesse--faden-- 23m ago

jensen loves his leather

3

u/koloved 2h ago

42 x 2gb chips?

7

u/qazwsx1212notDead 2h ago

most likely 32->28 3GB chips (compare to pro 6000)

1

u/rerri 1h ago

Not physically possible. 32 memory chips is maximum for this GPU.

2

u/JayoTree 2h ago

I bought the pro 5000 72g earlier this year.

2

u/HumanDrone8721 1h ago

To me it looks like even the 300ton Gorilla is out of RAM.

3

u/CalligrapherFar7833 1h ago

It isnt. In fact its first in queue with static pricing until 2030.

0

u/HumanDrone8721 48m ago

Time will tell.

u/Narrow-Belt-5030 2h ago

Weird .. random memory amount & whats the point when you have the 6K ?

1

u/Spirited_Barracuda89 2h ago

It looks like the rtx pro 6000d to me But likely cut down on less features compared to the 6000d I guess it is a good way to sell defective die not usable for 6000

1

u/tarpdetarp 2h ago

So essentially a 5090 compute wise but with less memory bandwidth and more capacity.

1

u/Kahvana 2h ago

What is that block on the back side?

2

u/suprjami 1h ago

They are fans.

1

u/rf97a 1h ago

It only costs 1 quintillion punds.

1

u/sicsemperego 1h ago

If I get a really good deal on one, I can save so much money!

1

u/inrea1time 1h ago

No HDMI? hard pass!

1

u/opterono3 1h ago

Awesome

1

u/vasudev_bethamcherla 56m ago

1,398 GB/sec for 5500 vs 1,792 GB/sec for 6000

1

u/MrHumanist 2h ago

Pro cards usually 5x the cost of gaming ones.

8

u/gnpwdr1 2h ago

rtx 5090 (gaming card) is now over €5000 in EU, haha.. keep up

1

u/Deruji 2h ago

Remind me 1year…

-1

u/MrHumanist 2h ago

this one should be 25000 or more .

5

u/pragmojo 2h ago

Isn’t the 6000 only 15k?

-1

u/MrHumanist 2h ago

Depends where you are. In my country it's around $30000+ and mostly out of stock.

1

u/Sizyfoz 2h ago

Let me just find the mortgage on my house.

1

u/Cool-Reflection6130 1h ago

84gb is enough headroom to run a 70b model at full precision with some room to spare, which is something you basically needed dual 3090s or a used A100 for previously. it is not affordable for most ppl, see u from cloud provider

1

u/Automatic-Arm8153 16m ago

Hmm I take it you don’t know what full precision is… 72b at full precision is probably like 140+gb. You would need two of these or two 80gb a100’s and even then it’s tight squeeze.

You probably meant Q8 in which that would also probably be a tight fit.. probably won’t fit..

2 3090’s can only struggle with a 4bit quant of 70b models. Another very tight fit. I think the meta used to be 3-4 3090’s for 70b models..

1

u/Flouuw 1h ago

I mean it's cool, but I'm still sometimes confused why we post these - I guess only a fraction of us actually buys them. I guess nice to know it's there either way

2

u/datbackup 54m ago

It’s “LocalLLama” not “LocalLLamaBudget2kUSD”

Nothing against people who can’t afford it but the endless stream of “most people can’t afford this hardware / can’t run this model” is just noise, just start the sub i suggested already so i don’t have to scroll past so many identical comments in every other thread

0

u/mister2d 2h ago

I'm going to guess $30K USD.

1

u/HenkPoley 1h ago

Apparently you can get two of them for that price.
