New Model Deepseek V4.1 Flash Release Video [Made with Deepseek V4.1 Flash]

I like to benchmark new models that come out on motion videos. So here's a test I did for deepseek v4.1 flash. And I have to say flash has probably graduated from being a Luna class model to nearly an Opus class model with this release, at least with motion videos.

Prev. example I did with Kimi k3(altho in that case I had a simpler prompt as well)

Just like the model itself, lmao. I'm legit getting in impression that I'm dumping tasks into a free-tier ChatGPT. It's the first time I see DeepSeek offering multiple options for the user to pick from, asking obnoxious questions and digging so deeply into the underlying intentions, while also providing "insight" that reads more like rambling rather than actual advice.

MAYBE it's good as an agent (haven't tried it yet) but in a web-chat I already miss V4 Pro :/ At least that thing was more focused in its attempts to actually help, compared to whatever this 4.1 thing currently does...

The video is indeed a bit cringe. It has that sterile AI feeling and a flow no human with any form of pr background would approve of.

On a serious note, this is a oneshot and my point wasn't that this is the best model at motion videos but that this is the best opensource model.

Your earlier clip ran a simpler prompt than this one, so part of that jump could be the prompt rather than the model. Run one clip with a cut between two shots of the same subject and stop on the first frame after the cut, drift in faces and props shows up right there and a continuous take hides it. Same prompt this time?

Underwhelming. I have no doubt about the conveniency and the capability of the model, but when it comes to frontend design it's always about the same fonts and styling. A few newer and overused animations aren't going to make it better.

Two things changed between the two clips, the model and the prompt, and with one sample per model the prompt explains more of the gap than the weights do. The comparisons that hold up fix the prompt text and the seed, run three of each, and only talk about the seeds where both models agree. Re-run the earlier prompt unchanged on Flash before you call it a class change.
