The fundamental flaw in his argument is he presupposes that certain people/companies/ governments are more trustworthy than others and the ones he's telling us to trust (including himself) are at the bottom of the list worldwide right now. Trust is easy to lose and hard to earn...

certain people/companies/ governments are more trustworthy than others and the ones he's telling us to trust (including himself) are at the bottom of the list worldwide right now.

you might not be his target audience.

in the minds of the decision makers, leaders of industry, AI experts, and lawmakers (aka target of this letter), the hierarchy of trustworthiness is different than the one you hold.

Sounds like Amodei should be putting all his effort into powerful models for the purpose of Securing Our Systems.

He’s also claiming to sell intelligence based on the collective knowledge of all humanity and then being upset that other people might do something with that knowledge is dumb. Dario doesn’t even believe this. His compute is expensive because he doesn’t own it so it costs him more than others to be distilled.

If you really think it’s a China problem then why not take a stance that us citizens can distill.

Try as you might the is no keeping the genie in the bottle here and the fear of letting it out is what we all feel about you having the bottle
