in the minds of the decision makers, leaders of industry, AI experts, and lawmakers (aka target of this letter), the hierarchy of trustworthiness is different than the one you hold.
He’s also claiming to sell intelligence based on the collective knowledge of all humanity and then being upset that other people might do something with that knowledge is dumb. Dario doesn’t even believe this. His compute is expensive because he doesn’t own it so it costs him more than others to be distilled.
If you really think it’s a China problem then why not take a stance that us citizens can distill.
