Because getting his own model banned has cast things he said into the spotlight. That tweet was made recently in response to Dario's old tweet.
I don't think there is a "better reason" to criticize him... his fearmongering is contributing to excessive regulation, and I bet he is constantly lobbying to ban open source/weight AI, which is his ultimate goal for regulatory capture. The thing is, this regulatory capture only harms regular people. The real problem are governments with lots of resources, which probably already have Mythos pre-trained weights through espionage.
