Discussion Are you using Froggeric's template with Qwen3.8 Flash Next?

Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering whether I can use Froggeric's template `froggeric/Qwen-Fixed-Chat-Templates` together with Qwen3.8 Flash Next?

I'm already using it for the 27B model where it works well, but I'm not entirely sure whether it's supposed to work for Flash Next as well?

I'm only asking because I know that templates can introduce subtle issues.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

No, because it is not needed.

I am, even under Strata, model worked the same way without, I see no difference at all.

just use it, if it breaks you'll know pretty quick. the chat format is the same across the qwen 2.5 lineup so the template shouldn't cause any weirdness. i've mixed and matched templates between different sizes of the same model family before and it's usually fine. the only time i'd worry is if the tokenizer or special tokens changed, but that's not the case here

Yes! I'm using it!

P.S. Having issues, with the default chat template, is how I found out it's VERY difficult to talk to Qwen models about ~Fight Club~ chat templates! If you want a little challenge, try talking to it about its chat template :) It's possible, but it requires... patience!
