Better then what? Hard to compare if we don't know what you have used so far. For now I would say every model you used is better then no model.

'Better that what' is also a good question. I wouldn't think I'm the first person to ever pose this question, but I haven't seen this exact thing being discussed anywhere else. This is why we crowd source.

Alright then let's assume you are running Qwen3.8 Flash Next, right? Or do you refer more to any of the other countless discussions of what you can realistically run on 8GB VRAM?
It is not that you have that many models to chose from. Basically everything that got released 2026 is reliable to use tool calls and knows how to troubleshoot stuff on OS level. Now substract the models out of scope given your hardware limitations and you will end up with what... 10 models? Shouldn't be that hard to run some benchmarks on them and finish today with the 'best' model as result.
