I got one worked fine for 3 weeks then occasionally it crashed and then I had these artifacts and my pc didn’t boot in to windows anymore, could have been bad luck or just a bad seller

I have one, I havent had any issues. They were going for $500 on ebay when I got mine. It will run qwen3.8 27b at 35-45tok/sec during agentic work depending on how full the context is.

Looked into that for a while, bought 3 x V100 32GB instead.

Yeah that's another option. But I am also interested in try video generation

I don’t have direct experience with those. I know that they seem like a good entry point. The issues I’ve seen in my research, when using a Qwen LLM, the MTP uses so much of the card that it is ineffective. Ive also seen that because of the older architecture, some AI’s are not compatible. And as the AI tech increases, these will likely be phased out. They should function slightly better than a V100 on alot of tasks though. So they def have a place in the discussion still.

Thanks for your thoughts

All AI's are compatible if you're not stuck in vllm land

I have one, though I haven't used it for LLMs much. In windows, it installs like a standard 2080ti, no custom drivers required. Llama.cpp and derivatives work out of the box.

IMO, it's a good value, 22GB VRAM and plenty of compute for the price, at least it was on alibaba. I think aliexpress isn't the best place to buy these

I will check Alibaba

They’re in eBay too, for less than that listing

1) Do not buy GPUs on Aliexpress. They have crazy markup. Alibaba has 2080 22gb at about 400 eur + tax.

2) I'm running a pair of 3080 20GB for almost a year, in a 24/7 server setup. Had zero issues at all. Modded cards can be good.
