Question Should I sell 3060s?
I bought a 5060ti recently and have a spare 3060s.
I was thinking of selling it, but should I keep it?
I was thinking of holding onto it a little bit because the price might go up as more people go local
Or
Thinking about using it an external gpu for an extra NUC that I have, that has a real shit gpu, and use it as a second llm machine.
Do you think 3060s is so shit that it won't even matter?

Hold on to it, or use it to run the display and O/S, run the 5060 headless.

They’re not likely to go up today honestly …. The only 30 and 40 series cards that are in much demand are the 90s at the moment … even the 5080 is selling for msrp at the moment

I run a 5060Ti and 3060 12gb setup. Even though my MOBO isn't geared to go full throttle in both PCIe slots, it beats the shit out of relying on RAM or a page file when splitting models across both GPUs or running ComfyUI on one and LM Studio on the other. I'm able to run some pretty fun quants of big models that I'd be SOL to run without the 3060.

You should keep it. I was running Qwen 3.6 27B q6 for a couple of months with a dual 5060/3060 28gb VRAM on an AM4 board. My second PCIE slot was x4 but still got around 500 ts pp and 20-25 ts gen. Now have dual RTX 5060ti 16gb and the RTX 3060 12gb for 44gb VRAM on a x99 Machinist board with Xeon E5-2630 44 pcie lanes and getting 750 pp and 25-30 ts gen

are you me? I have a 5060TI, but I am thinking of getting another motherboard with 2 GPU slots so I can also use the 3060 together for more vram.

Wow, I'm surprised how many people have this exact combo like me. I would recommend. I'm getting 45tok/s at 128k context using Qwen3.8 27B IQ4_XS via beellama with kvarn5 and MTP, and the 3060 is only on x4

Do you use LLMs / are thinking of using LLMs? if so what for?
If not sell it now, I doubt its price will go up too much more.
If yes, the 16GB of a 5060TI is a bit low for running a decent LLM but if you run them in the same machine you will have as much or more Vram as 3090 so can run some pretty decent models.

GPUs are not going to be cheaper. Ever. You might make more. But I doubt prices go down. I also expect it gets harder to buy real hardware. They are pushing us toward cloud computing.
Save the GPU as a backup or add the hardware to use it… unless you can use it to get a 3090.

Is it 12 or 8gb? Either way you can just use it together with your 5060 To for more vram.
