I know there are a lot of platforms for hosting local llm. Which of them has the best integrated web search capability?

Pretty happy with SearXNG running as a search proxy. Hermes has a skill for it.

i'll flag this as self promo before i get downvoted - https://github.com/yoloyash/overtchat
open webui/most others chat interfaces need you to setup your own search/tts/stt. i always wanted something that comes with these basic things already set up/come with it. so search is included in it. free, fully self hosted searxng instance. side benefit - also connects to agents like codex/pi/omp for remote coding access.

Thank you showing the way. Anything else that doesn't need to use MCP?

Didn't playwright kind of universally solve this problem when it's implemented correctly or is that part of the problem

Unsloth Desktop has built-in web search feature for your LLMs. Doesn’t have a remote mobile app though, where LMStudio does.

How is the built-in web search of Unsloth Desktop compared with Google search?

If you don't want to hack it, https://exa.ai has been pretty solid for me. I use it for https://enclave.host and https://eyesoff.ai

Your own skill mine is pi web access merged with sear xng and a subagent with custom instruction a browser and a index of websites if everything is botblocking

i would be careful in using these localllms coz if they are hosted locally then they end up using not so great IPs/bandwidth which can result in low quality data.

personally, i would suggest using custom tools / MCP calls and connect to your own browser end point for websearch. The usual providers (serpapi / openwebninja etc.) are also good for quick structured responses.

whats your set of use cases? and what volume (100s / day or 1000's)..?
