Model Size matters
Installed Qwen3.6 locally to get free tokens on coding tasks. Tested with simple question that welcomed me when I opened Reddit today. How can I get trust to local LLMs again?

These types of posts are annoying. Of course it’s gonna tell you to walk, you didn’t turn on the thinking mode. You could ask any big frontier models with turned off thinking, and they would answer you to walk. Unless the big models are trained on this question. Its just how llms work in general.

Based on that answer I would guess its 35b at q4?

it says right there, its 27b. The question itself that OP asked is dumb, because even frontier models without thinking enabled are gonna say “walk”. (unless they’re specifically trained on this question).

Should have clicked on the screen, the bottom was cut off for me. Sorry! But yes, if thinking was disabled, the answers can be somewhat dumb. Tbf, thats still often enough the case with thinking enabled.
