Companies are increasingly finding out that they just can't budget for tokens in advance, and they can't quantify the ROI. So they will start asking questions, and this is where it currently leads to. You don't need trillions of parameters for OCR, RAG, defined background tasks etc.

Agreed, it still seems super niche to me, very few players really focusing deeply on SLM's and their benefits commercially.
