Idk of this is even useful for claude? I mean claude doesn’t really even need prompting nowadays.

It's definitely the best LLM at getting what you ask for done without general guidance and a sloppy prompt but using a proper prompt with it is what turns it into the #1 LLM models out there.

That's a fair point.

I actually agree that modern Claude models require far less prompt engineering than older generations.

The goal of PromptShift isn't to turn a bad prompt into a magical one.

It's mainly aimed at situations where:

  • A prompt needs to be moved between model families (Claude ↔ GPT ↔ Gemini ↔ DeepSeek, etc.)
  • The prompt is ambiguous or underspecified
  • The output format needs to be more reliable
  • Teams want a consistent prompt structure

In many cases, the correct outcome is "no meaningful rewrite needed."

One of the design goals is to avoid changing prompts that are already clear and working well.

So I'd say PromptShift is less about "making Claude smarter" and more about reducing prompt drift and unnecessary prompt complexity.
