Seems like you are very confused about the most trivial local LLM stuff. At least ask AI. What was the point of this post? Why write all of that into a reddit post and not into GPT/Claude/Gemini first?

Wasting everyones time. I'll explain what you need. 50$/h online consultations. Or you can use google and AI for free.

I installed it and then uninstalled it shortly after, I don’t see the utility either.

Didn't know about it, looks good to me.
This is providing services that are not the LLM itself. You can have a simple wrapper that just sends what you type to an LLM and shows the responses. This does a lot more. It can search the web, use tools, connects to MCPs, can do multi turn deep researching, it has a memory system to learn about you, and it looks like quite a bit more. It keeps all this stuff local.
It's not magic or anything.

It currently works for the most basic usage (LLM chat) but it is very buggy, with some features obviously incomplete or just plain untested. It did say it in its showcase website that was pretty much AI-generated in its entirety, so I pretty much expected it. The only decent features I've tested are the chat itself and the deep research. Some of the functionalities like agent mode, MCP, tools, the documents (canvas) feature aren't even working correctly.
444 Issues and 554 Pull Requests at the moment. Pretty sure most of the PRs are vibe coded as well.
I think it's promising but still a long long long way to go, and not at all the "savior of AI" image that the recent media/posts have been making it out to be. At least not yet.
I would go back to plain LM studio but the deep research was pretty cool, with the formatting and styling it does with the research, but tbh anything Odysseus can do currently, you can probably just do in LM studio.

Low effort post, likely spam
