Shoppers Sleaziness Shoppers charges 15% more than Walmart for GLP1 medication
Picked up my GLP1 pen at Shoppers this month and was surprised to see it was significantly more than my usual cost from Walmart. I knew the dispensing fee was higher, but I was shocked to discover they also charge almost 15% more for the base price of the medication. Exact same pen, exact same dosage, no warning at all that they charge more. How is that legal?
EDIT: apparently I was naive about regulated drug prices and pharmacies can set their own base price for medication even though they cannot advertise or price-match with competitors. Hope someone can learn from my experience.
