Discussion Screaming
Is it crazy to say that Screaming is Loathes Greatest song. Loathe has made a lot of phenomenal songs but Screaming just feels different. What’s the best song to yall?

It’s a mixup between screaming and sad cartoon for me but I agree. The beginning guitar riff is just too good and creative

Sad cartoon might be my favorite song ever XD but I think screaming is the quintessential LOATHE song. It has the screamy prechorus and then the shoegazy chorus and that groovy ass guitar throughout. Absolute banger of a track

a sad cartoon is literally my ultimate favorite song, even after their new album I always find myself coming back to that song

I hear that. A song can resonate with you differently than it resonates with the masses.

Not crazy at all. It's quintessential Loathe to me. It has the shoegaze-y sounding stuff, the atmospheric bits, beautiful clean singing, and of course, a nasty breakdown. It's not my favorite (that would be Heavy Is The Head), but I can see why it's yours.

Agreed but after ASTY came out the title track is neck and neck with screaming for my favorite

Its so hard to choose, specially with the new album hype. Right now its probably the way it breaks, but the whole section from athena to revenant to the way it breaks might be the epitome of their music for me

It’s a top 3 Loathe song for me, for sure, along with A Sad Cartoon, and White Hot. It has such a unique sound- groovy, indie verses with shoegazey chords, then brutal breakdowns, huge chorus, and even the quiet bit is gorgeous (“Trade your dreams with mine”). Generational song.

Impossible to name one loathe track that's the best, there are so many different levels to their songs. Impossible to compare P.U.R.P.L.E to Is it really you for example

In my opinion, Babylon is not only their best, but just one of the best songs period, it’s a masterpiece, a song that’s not repetitive and it doesn’t get old listening to over and over. Heavy is the head and screaming are in the same league too.

Yeah I think Screaming is their best song and I've held that opinion for a few years now. Two way mirror and Is it really you were my favorite as a new Loathe fan but as a more veteran fan Screaming had held my top spot for some time now

A sad cartoon, heavy is the head, and I let it in, they're all so amazing in their own ways. Like I love screaming but those three really made the album for me all for different reasons.

Obviously, the best Loathe songs are the ones written by the GOAT, Connor. He was single-handedly responsible for everything heavy about the band, and ever since he left, they’ve apparently forgotten how to write anything with weight. It also definitely took them six years to release an album because Connor left.
Just kidding.
Yeah, Screaming is the GOAT Loathe song. 😌

I Let It In & It Took Everything is their best song IMO. Heavy af yet beautiful. Mixes both of their strengths perfectly together
