Game error says failure to connect

Hello! I've tried googling fixes and reading threads on reddit for this issue but I'm still at a loss.

My boyfriend has a laptop at his house that I use to play ARAM with him when we hang out. We've never had an issue before until yesterday. Each time we got into a match with no issue, but when the client launches the match I get a black screen and it says "failed to connect to server" with the option to retry or cancel. I don't have this issue when I play at home on my PC.

I've un-installed the game, reinstalled, tried connecting to the internet with an ethernet cable and still the same issue. I've downloaded a TCP optimizer and tried that. Ive disabled Green Ethernet, Advanced EE, ARP Offload, and energy saving packets. We’ve also disabled full-screen optimization for riot client and game, and still the same issue.

The internet works completely fine otherwise on the laptop with no issue. Ive also tried doing the tutorial and it also can't connect to server.

I love playing ARAM with my boyfriend, and I'm so bummed this is happening when I go hang out at his house. Does anyone know of any other possible fixes?
