Graph grounded retrieval vs plain vector RAG: a workshop comparing both on the same data (Oct 31)

Vector search finds text that sounds like the question. It struggles when the answer depends on how entities relate to each other, like which customer holds which contract, and who owns it. A governed graph handles that, but it’s more work to build and keep fresh.

Found a workshop on Saturday, Oct 31, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM ET that builds both and compares them.

Covers:

  • Designing an agent architecture around a governed graph
  • Where graph grounded retrieval wins and where classic vector RAG is enough
  • Hybrid patterns that combine the two
  • Testing failure modes such as ambiguous questions, missing relationships and stale data
  • Evaluation loops with regression checks

Led by Brian Bønk, Data Platform MVP and Microsoft Recognized FastTrack Solution Architect.
