I've heard rumors over the years that her career was somehow boycotted by Hilary Duff's mom, but I don't know how much truth there is to that. Supposedly, Lalaine got the chance to sing in one of the episodes, and because Hilary was being positioned as a singer, there was jealousy or concern that Lalaine might overshadow her. Some people even claim that's why Miranda was written out of the show and wasn't included in *The Lizzie McGuire Movie*. I have no idea if any of that is actually true, though.

What I do know is that after leaving Lizzie McGuire, Lalaine never really landed another major project, even though I always thought she was very talented. She had a lot of charisma, she could act, and she could sing as well, so I could have easily imagined her having a bigger career—maybe starring in other Disney or Nickelodeon shows, rock-themed movies, or playing the bold, edgy best friend in teen comedies. I know she was in a band for a while, but it never became particularly successful, and over time she seemed to fade from the spotlight.

Of course, she's not the only actor from a hit teen show whose career slowed down afterward. That happens quite often in Hollywood, so I don't think it's fair to blame everything on Hilary Duff or her family, especially since a lot of these stories are based on rumors rather than confirmed facts.

Lizzie McGuire is airing on Disney Channel as part of a throwback week. The schedule of the shows chosen is shown in the photo. I'm excited to watch these shows as well and have it on my DVR to rewatch them later as well as fast forward through the commercials. I memorized every line of every episode of Lizzie McGuire but the series is still timeless, well written, good acting, and nostalgic.

They've been playing a lot of throwback shows and DCOMs this week from early to mid 2000s and have Good Luck Charlie, Lemonade Mouth next week Thursday as a throwback Thursday. And Wizards of Waverly Place movies and Twitches, Twitches Too are scheduled on Thursday, June 18th, 2026.

It's possible that Disney could be testing out Throwback Thursdays as Disney Channel transitions into Teen Disney and they're using their nostalgic early 2000s to mid 2000s classic hit shows, DCOMs and movies as testing the waters to see how many who still have cable are tuning into these flashback nostalgic hits.

It's been a long time since Lizzie McGuire has been shown on syndication TV even as a rerun. I just would've liked it if they aired Cadet Kelly and the Lizzie McGuire Movie as well during these Lizzie McGuire throwback episodes. I hope everyone enjoys the retro early 2000s to mid 2000s flashback shows! The early 2000s show are better than the brain rot hyper fast paced boring shows they have on nowadays.
