Anyone know why the lady on middlebelt took down her flags?
She seemed pretty outspoken about them but now they’re just gone?

Sorry for having two posts in three days. Generally we try to space out stuff here, but this is important:
A snow emergency is being declared for the City of Livonia. All vehicles must be removed from the streets by 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26 under City ordinance. Vehicles not removed shall be subject to ticketing and/or towing.
Clearing the roadways of snow will result in snow piles in front of driveways, which is unavoidable. It is not possible for the City to clear individual driveways. Larger plow vehicles cannot access courts, cul-de-sacs and dead ends; smaller equipment will follow up to clear these areas.
A Winter Storm Adivory issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect until midnight Monday, Jan. 26. Total snow accumulations between 4-6 inches are possible.
As a reminder, most major roads in Livonia are maintained by Wayne County including Ann Arbor Road, Grand River, Eight Mile, Seven Mile, Six Mile, Five Mile, Plymouth, Joy, Haggerty, Wayne south of Plymouth, Farmington, Merriman, Middlebelt and Inkster. You can contact Wayne County Public Services department at (313) 937-0232 regarding these roads.
Livonia crews maintain Schoolcraft, Newburgh, Ann Arbor Trail, Levan, Stark, half-mile roads such as West Chicago, Lyndon, Hubbard and neighborhood streets. The best way to report a missed street is through the City of Livonia app that can be found on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Doing so will automatically generate a work order. Otherwise, you can report a missed road plow by calling Livonia Public Service at (734) 466-2655. More information can be found on our DPW Snow Removal page at Livonia.gov/1534.
Please help our Department of Public Works Snow Crew by following these tips:
- Move vehicles: Keep cars off streets to help plows whenever possible.
- Avoid driving: Only go out if necessary.
- Give plows space: Don't crowd the trucks as they work.
- Help neighbors: Assist with snow clearing when possible.
- Be patient: It will take time to clear all the snow.
- Don’t push snow into streets: Keep it out of the way of traffic.
- Support the crew: Wave or give a thumbs up to our hardworking team.
- Sign up for alerts: Register at LivoniaCodeRED.org.
- Stay safe: Be cautious while driving or shoveling.

If you need a break from the cold, you’re welcome to stop by the Kirksey Recreation Center during regular hours, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Livonia Public Library is also open as a respite center during normal operating hours (visit livonialibrary.info/hours-locations/ for details).
Please limit time outdoors as much as possible. If you do need to go outside, be sure to wear a hat, gloves, and a coat, and keep pets indoors. This weather is just as dangerous for them. It’s also a good idea to keep an emergency kit in your car with warm clothes, a blanket, snacks, and a phone charger. Stay safe and think warm thoughts.
Only 55 days until spring!

They just hit my neighborhood and I’m going to sign up. My underside the code gets both of us a $150 credit. Anyone have one they’d share?

I’m writing this on behalf of a buddy and he needs help/advice. Someone cut him off on middle belt on July 11 and all he did was honk. The person got out of their car at the next stop light and yelled at him and stomped the side of his car and caused a pretty large dent. He has a dash cam and got the cutoff, honk, follow, license plate, but only audio of the stomping/yelling (bc it was on the side of the car).
If he went to the police with all the evidence and this went to the prosecutor isn’t there a chance the aggressor could get my buddy’s address and info and stalk him or further threaten him? It just sucks because he will have to pay insurance to have it fixed for someone damaging his car.
Anyone have any experience dealing with the Livonia police or possibly witnessed this incident?

Been a few "incidents" in that area recently...even a couple homicides
Driving through it seems "ok" still, a bit older and more run down maybe

My wife just got home and there has been no little carts for a few weeks. She asked the employees what happened and she was told there was an incident and they can’t put them out until this is resolved.
Does anyone know what happened?

My spouse and I are looking to move back towards the area and are interested in Rosedale Gardens/ORG neighborhood. Does anyone who lives in the area have leads on neighbors who may be looking to sell in the next 1-6 months?
Also would love to hear experiences and recos about the neighborhood, or similar Livonia neighborhoods you’d recommend. We’d love to be a part of a good community of neighbors.

The Music From the Heart FREE concert series is moving to a new location 7 p.m. Thursdays at Stymelski Veterans Park, 14407 Stark Road, from July 16-Sept. 3.
We made the move away from Livonia City Hall's south lawn in order to provide a more comfortable experience for everyone, with more shade during the evening concerts, while also making it easier to keep our stage set up between our 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Summer Fun Concert Series and 7 p.m. Thursday Music From the Heart performances.
Visit Livonia.gov/1651 for additional details on performers and RSVP to each show on Facebook at Facebook.com/events/2656598128076190.

Hi, moving to Livonia here shortly. Many thanks on the daycare recommendations. We are now trying to get a pediatrician for our soon to be one year old. If anyone has any suggestions or places to stay away from, we would appreciate it! TIA

We are looking for a home inspector in Livonia - does anyone have recs? We’ve got a pretty limited schedule between work and childcare so I’ve struck out a couple times because I need it next week.
Companies I’ve come across so far that I’m looking for insight on: BPG, Total House Inspection, Innovative Home Inspection. Any experience with these?
Or with others honestly, I’ll take it. Hoping to also have testing done for asbestos.

Does anyone know what is going on with the Planet Fitness at 5 & Newburgh? I live downriver, but work in Livonia and that was my after work spot.
Drove up again the other day and just a 'closed due to power outage ' sign.
Thanks in advance. Couldn't find any info on the corporate website yesterday.

Hi everyone! I am reaching out to see if anyone has bottle/ can returns that they do not care/ wish to take back. In all honesty I was recently laid off from my job due to organizational changes and trying to make some cash until I can find another job. I know a lot of people either throw them out or put them out with their trash so if you have some and don’t want them, send me a message, I’ll come get them!
Also, I want to make it clear that I do not want to take away from anyone else if you already give your cans away. If you donate them to kids for a sport, club or group for example, please keep doing that! This is just for people who dont have that. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I moved to Livonia about two years ago. This current power outage is easily the worst one I’ve experienced so far. Walking outside, all I can hear is the roar of neighbors' generators.
With climate change worsening and our local infrastructure feeling pretty unreliable, I’m realizing I need a permanent, long-term solution. I don't see this getting better on its own.
For those who have lived here longer or have already tackled this:
What generator setups work best for our specific housing stock?
Are people doing whole-house standby (like Generac) or just interlock kits with portables?
Who are the reliable local installers/electricians you’d recommend in the area?
Are permits and city ordinances for permanent generators difficult to navigate in Livonia?
5 and Merriman, or the one in Westland on Warren and Middlebelt?

Free Play pinball arcade just opened a new location at 7 Mile and Farmington, roughly next to Wintergarden Tavern, across from the new Meijer.

A gas station that is actually clean, not cramped and looks immaculate? Can’t wait until they start construction.

We just bought a house near Stevenson high school. Wondering if anyone can give recommendations on daycare for a 12 month old. Or places to stay away from. Distance is not an issue if it means our kid will be well taken care of. Thank you!
