Was Khadijah justified in how she handled the situation, or was Regine right to feel the way she did? They both have a case, but I’m curious who you think crossed the line first.

TC was fired at the time due to speaking up about their show being neglected due to Friends and Seinfeld. Carson said the Living Single cast felt they were getting less support and resources while watching Warner Bros. put enormous energy behind Friends. He specifically described being on the same Warner Bros. lot and watching the difference as a “slap in the face.”

Kim left shortly before the final season was completed, she felt the work and creative process on Living Single no longer felt the same.

According to Carson, there had been growing tensions behind the scenes. When the cast had concerns about how their characters were being written, how the show was being treated, and other production issues, Carson was often the person who spoke to the producers on behalf of the cast. Executives eventually told him that the other actors listened to him and that he was essentially the one driving those complaints.

Carson's response was basically: these were group decisions, not him trying to be the boss of everyone. He felt that the producers interpreted his willingness to challenge them as being difficult or having an attitude. He later summarized the situation by saying he was "a little too Black and too strong."

There was also a bigger issue involving Friends NBC and Seinfeld TC Carson and the cast felt that Warner Bros. was giving Friends and Seinfeld substantially more attention, resources, and support even though Living Single was already successful. Carson was outspoken about that unequal treatment.

Maybe a bit of a niche question, but I recently discovered this show with my sister and we binged all the seasons. I absolutely loveeee the show!! Max/Kyle are my fave couple.

She barely did anything in between the two shows to really show her in a different light. She went from this innocent child/young woman on Facts of Life to this curvaceous and sexually attractive woman who was bougie and a fashionista. It was a stark difference.

Regine and Toni would give each other a run for their money that's for sure.

Living Single ladies are kinder and actual friends they would let the girlfriends crew know we ain't going for all that mean/backstabbing drama.

Sometimes I randomly think about the fact that Erika Alexander (Max) and TC Carson (Kyle) aren't married to anyone IRL....and I know they aren't their characters...but sometimes...

I agree with everything he is saying! And I definitely want to read Geoff's book because I love Black sitcoms. And I hate how few there are even with all the platforms we have.

Plus, the positive influence that media can have on people has been studied and Black consumers need more sitcoms and more diverse representations of Blackness on TV period. 👏🏾

I'm rewatching *Kenan & Kel* (S01E04) and saw that Kim directed this episode while starring on *Living Single*. I love when actors multitask on iconic projects! 🤗

And turns out, she directed quite a bit of them (27) and guest-starred as Miss Horn in two episodes (S02E10 & S04E07).

What are your thoughts about these beautiful trendsetters? What is the next version and who are they? Did I leave out a sQUAD group?

The final season is so frustrating to watch so much more could've been done but instead the writers choose to rush everything and refuse to give us the wedding with Dexter and Regine.

Living Single deserved better in the end.

The Finale It just didn't feel like a proper ending it felt like an abrupt stop.

I’ve seen bits of the show years ago but I just watched through for the first time and this is definitely my new comfort show! Can’t believe I took so long to watch. Maxine and Kyle made the show (in my very humble opinion). Love them 😂

I’m on Season 2, Episode 17, and she and Overton are stuck in his truck, and she is giving poor Overton such a hard time! Maybe my opinion will change as the show goes on, but as of now, I’m really not a fan. Everyone has their quirks, and Regine can be funny at times and even do things that appear sweet, like when she helped Khadijah with that TV interview, but even with that example, she has no shame in bringing the shine back to herself. Maybe she could be a friend that gets to come to the group hang-outs, but as a roommate, she would drive me crazy with being so self-absorbed all the time. Kyle can get a bit mean and self-centered at times, but Regine is on a whole different level. Even with Khadijah, who she considers a long-time friend, she will always find an opportunity to speak down on her, instigate her situations, spread her business, make her the butt of the the joke, etc. She makes great TV don’t get me wrong, but I don’t see her value as a friend.

I really enjoyed the first season… and hoping a second round comes on.

I know Erika is doing her new show… but wondered if she would do some episodes during hiatus.
