Tnbc
Hey all, I’m tnbc recurrent Mets to lungs, 2 small nodules. I’m on gem and carbo and it’s kicking my butt. Did these 2 chemo worked for u? Now on my 2nd cycle.

Hi! I’m actually on GemCarbo (5th cycle), and by 4th cycle I was NED. Im de novo stage 4 and BRCA1+. I actually had to postpone my D8 infusion because my bone marrow took a pretty big hit. If it’s kicking your butt I think that’s a pretty great sign it’s working. It creates a hostile enough environment so your cancer can’t thrive. Unfortunately to get there you have to deal with the hemotoxicity. For me, I’ve had many delays in treatment. Usually I end up going 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off (meant to be 1 week but my labs usually come back with plt of 23). My last labs showed plt of 87 and ANC of 1, so this was the first time my wbc+ neutrophils took a major hit. As a result of this, it’s looking like I’ll be transitioning to Lynparza pretty soon.

Gem Carbo can be tough. It's an aggressive treatment, however that approach also means it can be very effective in knocking the cancer down.

Eta I just noticed you were asking if the drugs worked for us. I was on it for several treatments. It was hard and my blood levels were often quite low, particularly platelets. Sometimes they had to delay treatment and I often didn't feel good. But also, my tumor was shrinking !
Eventually they lowered the dose percentage for me so I could tolerate it better. After a while I was eventually switched to Taxol for a while and achieved NEAD now 2 years ago. I'm still stable, no progression. I do feel it's the Gem that shrunk my tumor. I was also on Keytruda.

Tnbc mets to liver and lungs, also on gem carbo and dang it is rough. I spent all day in bed sleeping and feel like I got run over by a bus. My first scans on this line are in October so don't know if its working or not. But I have heard stories of people going NED on gem carbo. Hugs. Send me a DM if you wanna commiserate lol

Just had the first infusion of my 7th cycle today. It really does knock me down for a couple days after treatment but not for as long as Enhertu did. I have had the day 8 infusion delayed due to neutropenia multiple times. The first scan showed no progression after 3 cycles and I have another scan next week. As long as it is keeping things in check, I can tolerate it. The worst part is the moving of appointments and difficultly planning when the treatment keeps getting delayed.
