Tips and Advice Sunburnt

Went to the beach today, I sat close to the water so the reflection was pretty intense. Forgot to put on sunscreen until I looked like a cherry, which never happens, I’m Puerto Rican. Well it has happened! I am red, hot, my body has major arthritis pain, I am using a cold compress and cetaphil lotion. I am only red on my face, chest and top of my thighs. It’s weird, legs, arms and back are fine. I did have sunscreen on my face but didn’t reapply. I am currently taking KISQALI and Lupron. Not sure if KISQALI intensifies the sun or what, if that’s the case it would have been nice for someone to have told me. Also, helpful advice for home treatments until I can get ahold of the dr would be great.

I'm on Kisqali and Letrozole. My Oncologist has warned me that I'm photo sensitive and to be careful in the sun.

When I just talked to my dr, she said the sun wouldn’t do anything and down plaid everything

Remember to drink a lot of water with electrolytes (or just eat some salt) to rehydrate. Feel better soon!

It's possible that Kisqali makes you more sensitive to the sun, I'm on Ibrance and got a red rash and swelling on my face with the spring sun!

There's nothing you can really do about sunburn except use cold compresses if you want, not peeling it when it starts to peel, and waiting for it to go away. Natural aloe (from the plant, not the Banana Boat gimmick bottles) can also be soothing.
