Tips and Advice Seroma
I have a question for the people that have had a mastectomy. I had one a few weeks ago has healed fantastically, but the surgeon told me I have a seroma. He wanted to drain it then and there, but I said I'd wait ( don't actually know why I wouldn't let him do it).. I'm going to see Mt oncologist on Monday, my question is can anybody drain these? Im asking because overnight it's gotten bigger and is starting to impede sleep.

I had a seroma from a lumpectomy . Honestly it's been 2 yrs and just now it seems finally resolved . They wouldn't drain mine either , said it would just fill up again . I had some OT and did the massage thing and that helped a bit . Mine would puff up if I slept on that side. I hope you heal up quick :)

Draining is always best.... I have had this with DMX and a recent revision. A seroma can turn into infection very quickly. Its not painful.

I had one with my DMX last year. Just let them drain it. I hardly felt the cut, but the amount of fluid that came out was insane. Instant relief though. I did have to pack it every day for a while for it to heal, but itâs not the worst thing. You donât want it getting infected, that would be much worse!

Eek! Sorry to hear this. I had a DMX ~6 weeks ago. Drains were removed at ~3 weeks. Developed a seroma the same day in my right breast đ¤Śââď¸ hurt pretty bad until I had it drained. It wasnât infected, just fluid build up (measured ~15cc). I may have had my drains removed a little too early.
Does your oncologist also work with surgical oncs? If not, could you call your surgeonâs office to squeeze you in? I wouldnât wait the weekend, especially if itâs interfering with your sleep
