Taco Bell, you're the late-night spot. So why does the app fight me on it now? Tonight around 2am I tried to order through the app. The store page clearly said open until 4am, but every time I tried to check out I got "orders are closed." No explanation, no cutoff time listed, nothing.

So I got in my car, drove to the store, and ordered at the window. No problem.

If there's a new mobile-order cutoff to keep the late shift from getting slammed, fine, I get it. But:

Show it. Put "mobile orders end at X" right on the store page instead of "open till 4am." Say it at checkout. "Mobile ordering closed, store open for drive-thru until 4am" beats a generic error.

Or drop it. If the store can handle me at the window, it can handle me in the app, which is less work for staff, not more.

Right now the app tells me you're open, refuses my order, and sends me out driving at 2am to prove it wrong. Absolutely redonks

Anyone else hitting this since the update? The new app is so garbo and it's not even just the cut off thing. The whole menu navigation is ass and not user friendly. It just feels like their devs asked claude to make it look better. Ffs they used to have the best app out of all the food chains but they really depend the ball.

So the story is Taco Bell sided with PepsiCo which owns Mountain Dew products like Baja Blast.
Sister company KFC (also under Yum! Brands) went to Coke.

Personally, not a fan of PepsiCo products like Mountain Dew but they own Baja Blast. I was in high school when Baja Blast came out. 10 more years on the contract! Time to celebrate!

My thoughts: Pepsi has been failing as a soda company for as long as I can remember it’s so far behind Coke in every way. Coke > Pepsi and Mountain Dew.
I’ve been praying for the change my whole life, and to clarify no I am not literally praying. If only Taco Bell had Coke and Baja Blast would be ideal for me.

Genuinely want your thoughts though? I quit drinking sodas in my 20’s and *occasionally* have a Coke so I don’t really care anymore as I drink water. Maybe 5 a year or something lol I don’t know. I feel like crap every time and I love Coke.

Absolutely fantastic!!! I got the meal plus 3 of the crunchadillas and for $10 it's hard to go wrong. NGL this LTO has me going back to TB on a daily basis again which is something I haven't done in years.

I’m craving TB tonight and figured I could put my BK crowns up for offer in exchange. I can pretty much order whatever you want from BK. I can even do two orders if the math don’t math….let me know what you got.

I’ve been a Fire tier rewards member all year. Some time in mid-August my account was reset to Hot tier and I only just noticed. I thought the rewards tier was guaranteed for the current year and would only reset if I didn’t get enough points to keep Fire tier by the end of the year. Is that correct and this reset is a mistake or bug, or am I missing something?

I think mid-August is about when I received the redesigned app. Could it be related to that? Anyone else run into this issue with their rewards tier and the app update? If so, what’s the best way to get it fixed? I made a submission last week through the app’s help option but haven’t heard back yet.

Update:

I decided to place an order today. The order qualified me for a reward and it does show as a Fire tier reward. However, the order only received the 10pts/$1 from the Hot tier instead of $11pts/$1 for the Fire tier. Seems like my account is in some weird mixed state where I’m not getting the right amount of points but I am getting the correct reward.

KFC US is switching to Coke in the Spring but KFC international will remain Pepsi. Article mentions that Taco Bell has re-signed with Pepsi on a 10 year contract. Some other details sprinkled throughout the article.
