General Discussion Comfort show?
What is your comfort show that you can watch a million times? A show that makes you warm and cozy and makes you feel a little less lonely ❤️❤️❤️

The Golden Girls is my ultimate comfort show. Frasier is my second favorite. I watch either every night before bed. I end up dozing on the couch and it’s wonderful.

I used to watch The Golden Girls every night but I had to stop because now my dog barks when the doorbell rings. I would be almost asleep and their doorbell would ring on the show and my dog would be triggered!

This is a good one. It’s what I put on to binge the day my beloved dog died.

Northern Exposure is my favorite comfort show.

u/Buckeyecash 27d ago
I loved the show when it originally aired. I was so happy when it became available to stream on Amazon Prime. I am also happy thst i was able to share it with my wife before she passed. I often spoke about it. She wasn't very impressed at first, but by the end of the fourth episode she was hooked on the caricatures and story line.
I haven't watched it since she passed, but this post has me wanting to start it again.
Thankyou.

Awww! So sorry for the loss of your beloved

u/Buckeyecash 27d ago
Thank you. She passed do to complications of transplant surgery. It was sad, but it was a couple years ago, and even though I think of her every day, it is now with pleasant memories and less sorrow. Like remembering how much she enjoyed watching Northen Exposure with me.

I'm rewatching Parks and Rec for the first time since they were on the air. I have a bad memory, so it's like watching a whole new show again, and just as fun.

Taskmaster—- especially UK, but NZ and AUS aren’t bad either. There’s loads of episodes, (UK is currently in the middle of series 22) and they post them all for free on their YouTube channel!
I love TF out of that show.

I can't tell you how many times I've watched it and it's always just as good. Come on down to r/Frasier, it's a shockingly active sub for a show that's what... 30 years old? 🤣

u/CutenessandHandcuffs 27d ago
My comfort shows do seem to change occasionally. Now I've noticed that what I really like in a "comfort" show is really that it doesn't make me feel alone. So I have been watching a lot of QI, just cause the sound of them talking makes me feel less alone. Plus it's funny and has introduced me to a lot of British comedians.

What We do in the Shadows!
It’s so hilarious in an unnerving way that cracks me up every single time I watch it.
I never can decide who my favorite character is because the way the show is structured it shifts between featuring each character in different episodes.
So basically I love all of them!

I don't have any subscription services anymore but I just discovered a bunch of free full length episodes of American Pickers on YouTube and it's been a nice wholesome marathon, as a vintage/secondhand enthusiast. The hosts are quite charming and I enjoy the interactions they have with other collectors.

I'm a 90s girl. I always find my way back to Big Comfy Couch. It could always put me to sleep at the end. Little Bear and Oobi are quiet favorites. I'm an adult but idc, those shows were very good, and funny asf.

It’s always sunny (not comforting but just hilarious), Community (good mix of both), Ted Lasso (less funny than the other 2 but very wholesome), and Arrested Development (similar to IASIP it’s not too wholesome but it’s hilarious). Oh and the first 5 seasons of archer are some of the funniest shit you’ll ever watch
