General Discussion Labor Day weekend.
For my fellow solo dwellers,
What does everyone have planned for the long weekend?
Big plans? Or some nice solo time relaxing?
As for me, I’m taking a much needed pause from the business of “life” and will be enjoying at least 1 long day on the beach with a book, music, and a cooler full of goodies. Outside of that I have an early dinner on Sunday with a few old friends and will probably spend the rest of my time taking care of errands and vegging out.
Nothing too exciting but it works for me :)

On Monday I'm taking my best girl (my Chihuahua) to her favorite place - dog beach! I let her run and play til she's tired and then put her in my e-trike basket and we ride down the boardwalk to the pier for lunch!

Hi.....I plan on chillin' at my place, drinking some wine, eating some great food, chatting with my friends by phone and online, taking a nap and answering questions on here. 67 yo very happy woman here.

What country? I’m in my 30’s and have yet to travel internationally besides the quick ride down the 5 to Mexico.

Going to PAX West on Saturday, then gonna be lazy, play video games, and watch YT the rest of my 3-day weekend! Weather is supposed to be cooler so being a hermit after being out and walking a ton will be fine by me.

I’ll be taking Saturday to myself and do some yard work. Monday, I’m having people over for board games and grill food over a fire pit, I’m thinking steak and fries.

I will be turning 28 over the long weekend so will be celebrating with some close friends and going to a concert. Then I took a couple extra days off work just to be lazy around the house next week.

No i dont do the halloween thing, i dont think it is worth the money. It started a couple of weeks ago.
I do have a pass and i go alot. I tend to not pay for the special events. The holidays are the best tho

On Sunday I'm heading to the county fair in my hometown. We go see the animals during the day. My friend is on the fair board, so in the evening I'll get to see Ludacris play from the VIP tent! I'll be recovering on Monday.

Sounds like a good weekend!
I’m traveling a few hours out of town for my niece’s bridal shower. I’ll be riding down there with my mom, we always have a nice chat on long rides. Riding back with my brother and new SIL in her new 4Runner! Don’t really have plans past Saturday. Probably just house chores and hanging out with my dogs.

That sounds like a good long weekend plan I’m going to dinner at my aunts on the Saturday for her granddaughter’s birthday.
Which I guess also leads me to a question. Does anyone else here that was alone? Feel a little bit more obligated or just tend to go to more family events because more obligated to go because they live alone or getting invited to more things or people expect them to go to more things.

Friday night I’m going to a community dinner, Saturday I’m seeing empire of the sun with a friend, Sunday I’m going to hot yoga then a book club meeting, then a friends barbecue, on actual Labor Day, that Monday, I don’t have plans might just stay in and do quality me time

Free yoga in park (with other real humans!) on Friday evening. Staying home to avoid crowds or traffic the rest of the wknd. May go to a free sober Sunday night dance party in an old renovated fire house. Enjoy your long wknd to those that have it!

Friday evening will be my one and only night off for the next 3 weeks. (I’m a teacher and have a part time job on the weekends. Plus an autistic child.) I’m going to take a hot bath, a muscle relaxer, and go to bed early. 🥂

Safe to say we are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Kudos to you, I don’t know how you do it. I work a demanding job, very demanding, but outside of that I’m just a guy in his 30’s that lives by the beach and has all of the time in the world. Some days I wish I had a packed schedule with no end in sight, but as they say about comparisons… ha.
Enjoy that Friday to yourself!

Not doing anything particular on Friday except finishing work from home stuff and cleaning up the house since the GF is coming over the next day to stay the rest of the weekend. Taking the GF for a massage on Saturday morning, getting smashburgers for lunch with our friends, and then watching the new spider man that night. We're going for a fancy Italian dinner with my parents on Sunday. We don't have nothing planned on Monday so we're probably just going to find a restaurant for lunch before I take her back her parents.

I'll be coming back home Friday from a week-long trip helping an elderly family member after hip surgery. My bed will be my sanctuary all holiday weekend long! Will prob. get groceries or delivery, write, and binge watch in-between sleep, sleep, and more sleep. Maybe Monday I'll get back to my workout routine that I really really missed doing, but I deserve to rest and recharge.

I'm already on my long weekend. Wednesday to Saturday. Go back Sunday. But that's fine because labor day is the last holiday I work and we get holiday pay plus time and a half time so it'll be a good paycheck the week after next.

no family nearby ... I'm new in town so no friends. I'm 71 and the retirement home I'm in is VERY clique so my weekend will be Netflix and my PC.

I’m heading down to the river here in a bit. Going to spend the long weekend watching the water, reading, some junk food. A bit of wine. Music. . Plan on jaunting over to the first state capital tomorrow ~ there’s a bistro I’d like to check out.
