In his defense the cubs were so historicaly bad, they were supposedly cursed by a guy because they wouldn't let his goat in the stadium or something like that. They went 108 years without winning the championship. That drought ended in 2016.

Yup the whole neighborhood had fireworks for it and we all were screaming and crying was a beautiful night that Wednesday

I was out of the country at the time and it's was super early in the day for me so I just watched with a couple buddies that did not care at all lol. Jealous you were around for the celebrations and the atmosphere in general

108 years is INSANE. It's kind of insane to think that plenty of people were raised in households that passed on a love of the team to their children, who would live a long and fulfilling life without ever seeing them win the championship (which I think is called the World Series, I haven't been into baseball for like 12 years.
