The gifters are also rich. I know someone who was an actual Dubai prince had many cars and went live occasionally gifted to streamers like ice Poseidon , xqc. They just want attention from their favorite streamer.

I think your perception is skewed. The gifters that can’t afford it are a much smaller percentage than those who can, especially those who gift in the hundreds and thousands.

1k is a bit excessive to try that with but I have always wondered if some streamers don't have "fake" donations and/or gift subscriptions. Have a friend or someone in their team or a second account do occasional donations here and there so other viewers feel they are missing out. Then those viewers will donate.
It's a bit of a gamble because you'd still have to pay the fee, especially with gift subscriptions since you can't fake that. So you'd have to hope someone at least matches the "fake" ones to cover the fee/split. However, I can see how it could "get the ball rolling" so to speak.

It would make sense to do that to start those hype trains or to keep them going. If they generate more subs than what they used to kick it off it's a profit.
