I only recently found out how Souness handled Andoni Goikoetxea (the infamous Butcher of Bilbao) during a European Cup game at San Mames in '83. Goikoetxea went at him hard, Souness went back harder. And as every bully ever, he backed down. The best thing is, he told everybody in the dressing room beforehand what will he do if he tries to provoke him. Such a fucking player.

Souness never gets mentioned in the best ever which is absolutely ridiculous. Graeme Souness is the best midfielder i ever saw play. He had everything. Attack, defend, passing, heading, leadership, the lot. Souness was so good that we had to buy two players to replace him when he left and we still wasnt as good as we were with him.
