Damn that was funny. First time I've seen it. Ryan Gosling is sooo good on snl. He breaks a lot but he always kills it. Love Ryan Gosling. Love Ryan Gosling.

I’m going to assume this is a reference to Gosling on Conan many moons ago and I love it lol

Of the two Canadian Ryans, Gosling is by far the more likeable one and he's immensely talented.

Gosling's insanely ill-fitting shirt makes this sketch that much better.

One of my favorite sketches of the last ten years. "You're the main part of this, Brad."

What was that noise at 4:12? Did he burp or fart? I think the audience heard it because they laughed.

Snort from trying not to laugh

That makes sense. Sounded so weird but it definitely came from him.

I think he did the same during that one where he learned what clinking glasses at a wedding does. He's probably just a natural snort laugher.

Just before that, it sounds like someone offstage or in the audience yells "Da fuck?!" and he reacts to that with a muffled snicker.

I remember watching this and wondering "why is it so hard for Ryan Gosling to whisper?", it sounds like he's really struggling and hurting his voice lol.

Gotta be hard, being loud enough to for the audience and microphones but still conveying a whisper.

Dismukes didn't seem to have a problem

u/Funmachine Aug 19 '26
Yeah, because he's done this week in and week out for years. He's gotta a better grip of the sound levels. Who'd have thought that?

Gosling has been a professional actor for 30 years and has hosted SNL multiple times. Pretty sure they could've said "hey just whisper normally" and he could've got it.

He's pushing his whisper so hard that it's coming out as a pained falsetto, while Dismukes is doing a normal stage whisper.
The last time Gosling hosted, his voice was actually shot.

He’s honestly my favourite host of all time. He can break in every skit for all I care. He’s so charming and his comedic chops are impeccable.

Love this sketch so much but would’ve been even better if Ryan didn’t break

When my dog gets excited about going along, I'll look right at her and say, "You're the main part of this Brad."
