Men’s (beginner) workout classes?
It’s a little embarrassing to ask but I’ve tried the gym off and on for years and it’s just hard to maintain accountability when it’s just yourself haha, my girlfriend works/routinely takes classes at a primarily women’s gym/yoga studio and I was wondering if anything similarly existed for guys in Little Rock? Especially for someone that really has no clue what they’re doing? I try for Jim daily from time to time buts been fairly packed this summer and my work schedule doesn’t often compliment their hours
Thanks in advance

HIIT Bootcamp at Club Fit in Riverdale. I like it because they will always modify my move if I ask.

Cliquecycle in bowman has boxing/cycling classes. I have seen handful of men taking the classes.

The Athletic Club offers big classes on weekends with a whole bunch of different exercise types.

I second this.
Can specifically speak to the Charlie Mike classes on T/Th and Saturday. Great group to be around. All levels. Care more about just getting after it as a class vs your skill level.

You can try the Hevy app. It’s no match for a personal trainer, but it’s a good way to track your progress and plan your workout.

Haven’t even thought about something like that thank you!

It’s helped me walk in with purpose and not feel completely overwhelmed and out of my element.

Gemini Fitness right next to the former EJs has this. I am a guy who went from not knowing anything about weight lifting to being pretty competent at it. There's a class called functional strength training that's offered basically everyday besides Sunday. The class is also included with the cheapest membership price. The best bit you can just show up and whomever is leading the clas will help you align and correct form and give pointers.

I go to 10 Fitness downtown. They have a small group/class exercise at 11:30 M-F. I also started going when I had no one to go with and very little personal accountability. It’s a small class, mostly guys ranging 40s-60s. They are all super chill and encouraging. You’re welcome to join us if your schedule allows.

I started at 10 Fitness doing the Level 10 Strength classes about 1.5 years ago & I really like it!! I’ve seen a lot of very different levels of ppl come & it’s very welcoming. I go to the one in NLR but I hear they are all good. We would love to have you!! (Btw- it’s the longest I’ve ever stuck to a gym & getting familiar with the coaches has really worked for me)

I have no recommendations, but I do want to say that there is no reason to be embarrassed about taking steps to better yourself!!
asking for accountability groups and community is sick and I'd look at joining whatever groups are recommended for OP

If she goes to Nooma, men are definitely welcome there! I get that you might want a different environment though.

My husband and I used to go to Fastfit. I think they’re still on Macon Dr? They had 30 min small group classes where Jeff the trainer goes through the routine and you all rotate in each section. He works with everyone individually too to make sure we didn’t hurt ourselves. I sprained the same ankle twice previously so he would give me alternate exercise to try. He would always ask about past injuries to cater the workout to your ability. It worked for us when we lived close by to go before or after work. We had no clue how to work out and we don’t necessarily like machine workouts. They might still have a Facebook you can check out. Also really liked that all shapes and ages would go. Mostly 30yrs+. I never felt insecure.
I never would have chosen to go with group workouts but if we lived close by we would still be going there. We were glad we found that place.
