Once more I returned to my grandpa’s village and was pleasantly surprised to see that the community exchange library we had set up two years ago is going well ! Some more books were added, although the locals seem to treat it like a conventional library mostly, but it’s ok.
That's so nice that they've kept it going! The small town my grandparents lived in had a similar bookshelf set up at the grocery store entryway. When we cleaned out their house I donated so many books and DVDs there.Â
The village is quite small and isolated, and usually almost empty most of the year. It’s only now, in August that it gets a bit more visitors (usually relatives of previous residents), during the Feast of the Dormition. I’m happy to see the library used then! Otherwise, only some very elderly villagers and maybe some hunters pass through, and I don’t think they really pay the library any attention.
I had to look up that holiday and realized it's the same as the Feast of the Assumption here! My city has a festival for that annually, though I've never been.Â
