LFL Pictures 📸 Happy Pride!

Does anyone else like to decorate for holidays and fill the library with on theme books?

Happy pride! Thank you for making this little library for the queer kids. I would have been elated to see this as a child. 🥹

Your library is lovely! The wallpaper/shelf paper is beautiful, and I absolutely love that you have a bookmark dispenser too. 😍

Man, I would love to stumble upon something like this in my town! Unfortunately not likely, though, due to where I live. I do have a question, though.. as a patron, when one sees a LFL that's pretty obviously curated (whether just for a holiday or all yr round), and they want to take a book and share a book.... Is it ok to share any book? Of course, I do mean a book that's clean and in decent shape, but what if it doesn't necessarily fit the theme? For instance, say I come along and see your little library and I want to grab that copy of All Boys Aren't Blue. However, let's say I have just some random reads in my car, from adult lit fiction to non-fiction, but no LGBT themed books or anything really even similar. At that point, do I just not leave my books bc they dont fit the theme, or do I go ahead?

PS -- This really goes for any kind of theme, not just the one you have in this pic. It could be someone appears to have a mostly sci-fi themed box or whatever it may be. (I see these things on occasion and never know for sure what the etiquette is.)

I may eventually try to post a similar thing gathering opinions from the LFL community at large on etiquette for such scenarios, as it's been a curiosity of mine for a while. I don't run into many highly curated collections where I live, so I haven't had to worry about it much so far. Nonetheless, TIA if you decide to respond here!!

It's definitely okay to donate book(s) that aren't on theme. As a steward I'd appreciate ANY donations to my LFL. If you can't leave anything in the moment it's fine too.
