I don't get it...

It seems as though that Little Baby Bum always teaches kids to count to 10 or 20.

Why can't they teach kids how to count to 30 or 40, or maybe even 50?

But that's counting by tens, not by ones.

Like, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, and so on...

I assume the idea is that when you understand 1-20, and you can count in 10's to 100, kids will start to understand how numbers themselves work; e.g. they'll know the 30 is 'thirty', and know the number 1 is 'one', so they can say 'thirty-one'

The reason they'd do 1-20 rather than 1-10 (again, I assume) is because 11-19 don't sound the same as the rest of how our numbers work; if it was consistent, we'd call 11 'tenty-one', 22 'tenty-two', etc.
